What i want to know is, if a french copper gets you on the radar gun at approx 110 mph and is in the middle of the inside lane of the motorway poinint at you and trying to wave you down, is it ok to go round him and accelerate and hope he doesnt have someone up the road waiting.

I only had to deal with heavy rain and it almost had snow on the highest point of my trip of 6.5 hours.

Cruise.

Well I had an eventful ride home!!! I saw the end of my van spin as I was in the other car, I was trying to take a pic of my van racing Glen's van after the tolls, and I do have a pic, well you can make the van spinning in the backround, it's blurry but its there, so I didnt see it go, but was told it went round twice!!!!!
Then I hopped into my van and Brian got flased by a spped camera, then when I was driving i got flashed and a copper on the side of the road had a speed gun on me, so I will be checking the post every day

But at least I didn't get stopped for 2 hours and banned from driving in France!!!!! hahahahaha

Who was that?

Our trip was a bit uneventful, my mum passed a copper with a radar gun at 145Km/h so nothing too bad by the sounds of it. The police must've heard we were coming

Lee, I did notice the cones in France are a lot smaller than here, you would have been much better off hitting those

We got home at 2:30am, what about everyone else?

news travels fast

We were making good headway, only 80 miles from the port and two police bikes come chasing after me and escort me a few miles to a police station. Spent two hours filling in forms and being taken to a bank to get money. Apparently caught me doing 182kmh (lucky i had just eased off ).

Annoying thing was we were in a rush becuase we had been told our ferry had been cancelled at 11:55pm and moved to 8:55. When we got there it we were told it had been delayed by 3 hours!!!! what a joke

Sounds like you all had a fun/eventful road trip.

Kev, I hope the fine wasn't too hefty? Is it a UK driving ban? I hope not mate.

well I'm not saying its right, or you should or shouldn't, but i think we have been flashed or gone through a radar trap every time we have been abroad and haven't yet received a ticket, probably to much trouble for them, it seems if your going to be done or fined they will try to stop you there and then, they can charge you on the spot or take you to a bank or cash machine,I'm not saying this is Gospel just our experiences,

No its just France.... i'll find out in 3 days how long when they send my driving licence back to me.

I may also be in trouble in Switzerland too..... i got caught on the way to turin from belgium, but that was only about 80 in a 70..... roads in switzerland seem so slow after the Autobahns...

ME and Dave were only doing 140KM in a 130KM zone so not too bad.
Got home at 0200 ish not sure on Barney as he still had to go to Sheffield from mine.

Isn;t it Jeremy Clarkson who says the Swiss are strict with road laws? You'll find out shortly no doubt.
