Hey folks thought I would pop on here as I am resurrecting my old pride and joy... I am missing so many bits for it, it's not even funny ! I foolishly stole the bits many years back to upgrade an IC car I had at the time which I then sold ... I have managed to find some speed line UJ covers to replace the ones I took off...there are another pair on eBay if folk want them just search kyosho spares..... I need the longer comp spec drive shafts,(cannot recall the correct lengths.... I don't want to run dog bones on the back as it used to have proper UJ shafts in there) turnbuckles, and the steering mech. I still have my traxxas shocks luckily ! I want to run a brushless motor in the thing and LiPo batteries.... I chucked all my old motors as they got water damaged many years back so just have the 17 tripple left that's in the thing. The car for its time was pretty highly spec'd with the one way diff etc etc here are some pics anyways

Sure... Please excuse the odd screws clearly I had to use something I had to hand at an event. I cannot recall who the slipper was made by but at a guess it will either be a wasp or team line one...

The car was a no expense spared at that time.... To put it bluntly when I began to race the real thing it cost me less ! A by gone time I had as a teenager and some of the best moments I spent with my father... This is why the car needs resurrected I hope you good folk can help mea as I don't honestly know where to begin hahahahaa

Great pics and my chassis lives on. One of a few designs that got made around my design.

Look on retro modelisme and go onto manuals and youll find a manual. Let me know what you need ans i will see what i can find online.

Listing the correct part numbers will be a lot better, you can check them using the right manual :

-Zx-rr supplement http://www.retromodelisme.com/pdf/ma...supplement.pdf
- Zx-r (and MkII) http://www.retromodelisme.com/pdf/ma...lazer_zx-r.pdf
- Zx http://www.retromodelisme.com/pdf/ma...4/lazer_zx.pdf

-Alpha Lazer http://www.retromodelisme.com/pdf/ma...lpha_lazer.pdf
-Zx Sport http://www.retromodelisme.com/pdf/ma...ish_manual.pdf

No problem for the body .... is still available here :
http://www.kamtec.co.uk/index.php?pa...hk=1&Itemid=53
(please don't care about the ugly paint job ... right Welshy ? )

Bye
Ema

Wow...how chuffed am I !!!!! I will go through the other shells too... I could spend a fortune... Well done Welshy for keeping these things going ! And your efforts on the tub chassis you should have won an award ! Deffo worth the 150 I think I paid for it... Back then too ! I need to get some battery holders suitable for the hard plastic lipo's but that will come with time.

W-5063 fro the front or LA-232
W-5061 fro the rear or the UM-510 bone and the LA-231.02 axle
lunsford, kyosho or any of youre choise
SP-107 or LA-303 does look a bit better then the original...
LA-219-7 yes the new style for zx-5 works after some dremeling of the arms.
LAW-30 if you are using the new cvd´s cool looking blue.

Good luck

Cheers for the praise, glad you liked it. Blame Jason Green for giving me that idea when he stood on my car at a regional. Still annoyed about that as i was rapid that day.

i liked the shell so much I persuaded Keith at Kamtec to do it so long as we all kept buying it on a regular basis. Also fyi the lazer zxs shell fits and comes with an undertray. You will need to do a mod on the servo to make it fit perfectly and no cutting required.

On the subject of lipo tray, ive designed it and fitted it. I will ask fibre lyte to send me my designs as ive done a few. Question is do you want to have the option of ballast or not as if yes you will need to drill the chassis.

Ema its a work of art and believe it or not im still using it and looks just as new now. Its the very first one he ever made and shows the quality of his workmanship.

The chassis was being sold for that but now its going to be at least a hundred more but dont take my word for it yet until i get the first chassis, then you will know.

The great thing about it for me was that it made the chassis way more stiff and the handling of the car improved ten fold.... No more loosening of the top deck bolts then bending the chassis over your knee then tighten the bolts to tension the main belt hahahaha YEEEEHAAA..... I had seen cars deliberately sabotaged at events by being stood on by the dodgy marshal always the quick car too

Thing is Jason didnt do it deliberately and was a worlds qualifier and an experienced racer just not paying attention. Still my design cell holes placement were never sold to anyone else and that chassis helped me in to the brca indoor champs a final on carpet, beat a few of the worlds qualifiers on that weekend, whats funny is i used a 14s as my sponser put the wrong armature in my motor so geared it for a 10d so had stupid accelaration and zero top end so Dave Duggan (think duggan as his dad was brca chairman and team yokomo manager) passed me down the straight and then id anilate on the infield. Great fun that chassis and took some serious punishment from me, as i was and still am known for breaking most things so got that design spot on.

I checked my pivot blocks today and they have the same issue as yours. The issue with the front rear gearbox mount is minor and easily fixed but the rears could cause the wishbones to foul on the gearbox case. If he is just sending you another set the will no doubt have the same issues as they are made on a CNC. Did he give you any indication that he was changing the design rather than just sending another pair? How did you contact him was it through the form on the site or via an email address?

I replied to his email saying it was being shipped out.
