any advice on removing garish red paint that currently covers everything, thought about acetone or paint stripper, but don't want to melt plastic components

Hi fidspeed......

I would try Nail Polish remover first on a small part. This does contain acetone but not as strong.

It will also depend on the paint that has been used to spray it red.

Put the Nail Polish remover on a rag and then rub onto red paint, (don't pour the Nail Polish remover directly on). Have a bowl of hot water and a lot of washing up liquid on the ready to wash the part straight away.

I would try it on a small part of the underside of the chassis first to see what reaction you get with the paint, unless you know the paint thats on it.

Hope that helps..............

it's not actually in bad nick, removing the red paint may prove the most difficult and time consuming
