2,5mm Does it have to be the same diameter to fill up the hole in the diff or it just has to tighten it together?
I made the break in for the Clash motor today, mounted deans connectors on the ESC cas it came with Tamiya

hi fellas!
I thought I tell that tomorrow I will have another race with the MadRat Only that now with a stock brushed system. BIG difference tho between my brusless system and this brushed.... The startup is muuuuch much smoother but than.....it ends there :P
I have the stock clash motor with the 21T pinion. What else could I do to make it faster?.....

I will see this evening if they are any better like the stock tires. The "MadRat firend" have bought a set of PL Calibers :P I will try those too

Hi friends!
So I said, i was racing yesterday in the stock class with the Ansmann clash motor ( :P and have to say that it did petty well, with a 23T pinion ), and as promised I'll do a short summary of it. The track was a very complex one, having all kind of surfaces, earth, sand, grass. One single and one double ramp (I hate that double soooo much!!!! ) 2WDs really had some hard times on that double ramp. The main phenomenon was that we have landed on the nose.(I confess that I cannot jump yet. I will buy some spares the summer and will train myself for the jumps) Even the better drivers have had very few succesfull jumps. And even less those in the stock class with 20T brushed motors. I've decided not to jump at all, being affraid of breaking something, untill the last A final, when I said, that I don't have too much to loose so I've started jumping that double ramp. Nothing broke
Even the organisers said that it was a track for 4WD. (Actually after the race I have tried a B44......well.....I'm NOT giving up. I want to learn to drive a 2WD well. But...God how well that B44 drove.......!Almost full throttel in the curves and succesfull jumps :P BTW! I also have to buy a faster servo.
Do you guys consider the exponential a necesary thing? Should I find a radio with exponential? In the straights I didn't really have steering issues. One issue was that before the race somebody broke my radios steering wheel and I had to race with a Kyosho Perfex. Maybe it was better than mine but I wasn't used with it, with how the DR worked. One qualification went weaker because of that DR.
After all, I don't know what place I was, BUT, in the 2nd stock A-Final I was 4th and the other MadRat right in front of me 3rd
Cheers guys!

(did I say, short summary? :P )

i have it but i dont use it i may put some in on the 4wd throttle but to be fair it makes the response feel mushy and unnatural

Ok. Than lets ask it this way: what radio should I buy to be good and if possible, budget?

My 2 cents; Ive messed with exponential a little and have found the best thing is to learn throttle control. If you watch video of some of the pro drivers, you can see how well they control their throttle.....never applied too soon or too late. The better you are at it the more competitive you will be.
Try to practice often, for me I am not a "natural" so I need to run on of my cars 1 or 2 days a week. If I take a week or 2 off Im terrible come race day.
As for jumping, throttle control is everything when it comes to the pitch or angle of your car in the air. As your car leaves the ramp, the wheels unload (spin faster) and this causes the car to go nose high. Therefore you need to back off the throttle as soon as you launch. If you back off too much or hit the brakes your car will nose dive very quickly. So with practise you'l learn where to put the throttle.
Another thing with throttle control, if you have the wrong rear tires it will be much harder to learn this skill. The rear end will be loose and hard to control.

Thanks notme! very usefull tips. Thing is, I know allready the theory of the jump. I've watched a lot of youtube vids earlier. I think, the problem wasn't then while being in the air. In the air I couldn't do anything, and I think it is because the car is only 2wd, so it didn't pull up its nose when on the throttle like a 4WD does. Also I am sure that the car wasn't nose heavy. I think, the solution would have been the following: not to try to control it in the air (which anyway didn't work at all) but to give it the right throttle before leaving the ramp, which theoretically would have been pushed down the rear and lifted up the nose.
I will have to buy several front lower arms and other front suspention spares and start practicing
