Default New to Racing

looking to start racin rc cars at my local club, ive got my own motor but is there an regulation to what sort of motor u need to have an what to look out for as a newbie

Best to ask the club. I'm sure they will tell you about any motor rules.

Most clubs will let you practice at their facility using any motor, it comes down to finding the right one when you get into the actual racing, try the track out first with what you have, as long as thats ok with them of course.

Like sosidge said they will advise you on what they require
