The little time I´ve spent with the car, I´ve been using stock spur and 23 pinion. The motor and ESC seem to be a bit more warmer than normal. Now I installed 21 pinion and have to test it out.

23 pinion sounds about right. 21 would be quite undergeared.

If it is getting hot, then open up the vents, cut the rear of the shell a little so air passes through and can exit the shell. BUT they do get hot, don't be alarmed as long as it can last 5-6 minutes. Mine regularly smells like its on fire.

23/83 on a good quality 6.5 is spot on for most brands of motors.

They do get hot, but nothing dramatic

And NEVER undergear a sintered BL motor.

I am just stepping up from stock 13.5, to an 8.5 Tekin.

With a 8.5 would I have to increase the pinion size from what has been recommended here? Say 24 / 83?

Thank you very much guys, I´m going to 23 again.

Gaerno, as faster the motor smaller the pinion. 24 should be ok.

Thanks, yes a good tip.

I asked craig to add the Cat SX to his list, on his motor chart. he did which is awesome. He also added the FDR figure as well. Really cool guy.

Not sure what the box stock internal ratio is, 2.4, 2.6, 2.8?

I think it is 2.6, I built the car last night and counted the teeth

Just let your mate know that he doesnt have the options in correctly for the CAT, he has it down as 2.5, 2.6 & 2.7
