cat sx layshaft bearing failure
Been running a cat sx for the indoor winter series, and the last couple of meetings the layshaft bearings have completely destroyed themselves, this only happens on the side gear side, any solutions to prevent this from happening again? Other than stripping it down and putting fresh bearings in for every heat!, my first thoughts are to maybe try to double up on the bearing on this side, that is if the aluminium mount would take it.
On another note, I'm still trying to work out how the front diff snaps the diff bolts, must of happened 4 or 5 times since I got the cat. Enjoying driving it, but these niggles are getting on my t*ts. |

I think, I know this issue... (Ralf, do you remember? my son, never had this issue in his Cat, but I lost a lot of bearings).
I had to go for 2 new alloy mounts, 3329, 3330, to get this issue fixed. And, yes, the ceramics helped a bit. |

sx bearings
Replace with abec 7 bearings and pack with grease. We had the same problem and this fixed it. Bearings lasted for ages.
