if you ask them, and you get caught, thats freud, if you don't ask, you can't be done, most places mark it up $50, but apparently, with the high volume of stuff from HK/Asia, they are pulling a higher percentage at customs now

if it is marked as a 'gift' and is over the rateable value, then you pay a different amount of taxes on it, as the postage isn't taken into account, when it is a commercial item, you pay duty on the value + shipping, then VAT on the value+shipping+duty

if you get them to list it as scale model car or parts it isnt taxable,and thats was from someone that dealt with customs all day,

thats how my stuff comes in, from HK, Model car parts, and they still get hit now.

must be listed as scale model car/parts, if they hit you with charges just remind them its a non taxable item and get them to check,
ps as soon as i get the divley ill return post it to you cheers again
