Question Vintage Ultima Front Wheels?

Hello - I have just aquired an old Ultima pro, with a mind to racing at York in the Vintage class . The Only thing is that it came with old tamiya Astute wheels on and i would like to bung some more modern larger wheels on. I figure the rears will be no problem but the fronts im not so sure about they take a pretty big bearing with a - 10mm OD / 5mm ID.
Any info would be greatly appreciated

If the axles are 5mm (I presume they've already been upgraded) then any of Tamiyas modern buggy wheels will fit, such as the 2.2" Astral Dish, part number 51205 or the plain 2.2" dish wheels, number 51261. There are matching rears which will fit straight on the Ultimas hex drives.

The other way is to replace the uprights with Associated ones. By drilling out the Ultima uprights to 1/8" you can fit RC10 steering arms and axles in the C hubs so you can run RC10 wheels.

cheers terry
Im looking for a Tamiya spares dealer in the North/West straight away.
I had a quik look in the tamiya catalog and the disk wheels on the Sand Viper buggy look pretty sweet.
Tamiya wheels sound a lot less faf than the conversion option, so my minds made up.
"thanks again for the top info"
