B4.1 Front Hex Conversion issue
Recently go all the bits (spindles, axles, hex's) to convert my centro over to Hex wheels but when I tighten the wheel nut it all starts to bind up and stops the wheels spinning free. Backing the nuts off a bit helps but then i get wheel wobble.
At the moment i've got a washer at either end of the axle rather than both washers between the drive pin and the bearing. Any ideas? Using the recommended Proline wheels rather an the AE ones. |

Are you using the AE plastic Hexes or the Aluminium Jconcepts/proline hexes?

Don't forget there are Avid wheels and hexes as well.
I've been running the hex conversion for a good while now with no issues. I can't remember the exact build. But there is an e-clip needed to hold one of the bearings in place. Just check the e-clip is secure. MiCk B. :-)

When I built mine first it was the 'kit' AE plastic hexes, then went to the Pro-line hexes, then on to the Avid hexes.
Never had the issue you describe with any of them. It is the same on both sides? I'd double check the build that there is nothing wrong. MiCk B. :-)

Yeah same both sides Mick. I'll take them both apart tonight and try again.

Check the build and post results here.
If you need I'll take photos of mine for you. I can crank down on mine with no binding. MiCk B. :-)

Just finished a rebuild and now all ok. Needed to remove the circlip and a washer to free it all up. I now just have one washer between the bearing and the drive pin and everything is spot on.
Thanks for the input Ben and Mick. |

I am using Jconcepts and Jconcepts wheels
After a big impact on one corner on c4 the axle wasn't the same again. After replacing with a new fresh axle all was Great....
