After seeing how hard them walls are to hit I think I'd rather have a shell of a car I couldn't give two hoots about... An empty bottle of semi-skimmed maybe.

Definately - great to be indoors again on a large track, certainly gave the 6.5 a good run!

I think the 1st night back indoors went really well
Aran - your car looks a lot better without the grass stopping the wheels going round bring on next week

Yes Aran, I'm impressed! I had gotten used to seeing your car run quickly for a few laps an then almost spin uselessly on the spot
I need some cooling as well, my motor has never run hotter!... Also need a couple of new wheel bearings, totally smashed them to bits against the wall. |

I was having to brake hard for that first corner - normally when I help set out the track I try and build that corner before anybody else gets to it and I make the track 5m wide - just so I don't have to brake! Now that i've foolishly admitted to this I suspect the powers that be will be keeping a watchful over me

It was nice to be to run for 5minutes haha.
Braking on my esc seems not be working, last year on carpet it would lock the wheels so turned it down to 80% but now it's not :S, so yeah chris let's keep it 5metres wide |

omg how much space did you need.. lmao.. it was like someone had put a grenade in your pit bag lol
nice one . you'll be fine, tire additive on the back is all thats required and turn the d/r down on the steering but you'll soon have that turned back up.. im going to try a 29t pinion (30t at mo) might let the motor spin up more.. and put the red o-rings back on for rd3 + final, when the grips up..

Not racing this week, but have replaced the rear belt & pulley that stripped last Friday (hence FWD in last round) and have set up the ESC to reduce the power to protect the gearbox. Will also be running Tamiya Rally Blocks next week - the Schumacher yellow rally blocks were way too grippy for the car with that ride height, hence the really crappy handling & mega obsession with grip roll last week. I WILL GET IT TO HANDLE!

I actually liked your grip rolling, gave me some hope (only kidding, with a brushed TL01 I have no hope at all)
My rally car still isn't ready, although I did fashion some bumpers out of packing foam, old body posts, and bottle tops Really the only thing missing is to fix some "crappy" soldering that I did that didn't hold up Will surely have it done in two weeks May give it a go then... But really, if you were grip rolling, then the TL01 with its super high CG brick like chassis will be no fun. As far as the slowtastic Traxxas buggy, I finally got fed up of the wing wire and fitted a Mad Rat wing mount to it. No more driving round with a collapsed wing, or worse still no wing at all... Even though I am sure it is easier to find indoors I didn't fancy that again. Also replaced the wheel bearings (found some spares, had a whole set!), ran two rounds of qualifying and a final with a massively wobbly wheel... I'm amazed the whole thing didn't shake itself apart! Well it nearly did, as a wheel nut literally fell into my hand as inspected the damage after the final! |

I reckon the TL-01 will be fine. I've turned the speedo right down now and loaded the setup software onto my laptop so I can alter the settings during the meeting next week. Running out of excuses now...

It better be fine, coz I may be racing it this Friday!
I've just noticed that the slipper on my buggy is totally kaput. When I say kaput I don't mean it slips too much or anything like that, I mean the spur now sits on it so badly it got chewed up! I've never had such a long list of things that needed replacing after a race! |

No, it wasn't... This is what it looked like after every corner!
Quite a frustrating time. Seemed OK at first, I then I don't know if it picked up the additive left on the track, or the track got warmer, or the tires got grippier as they wore... But WAY to much grip. |

I've some budget radial tyres and rims in the shop will bring them along next week, I think there a little harder so less grip.
