Well this lazer restoration sure brings back memories when building my zx back in early 89. Great design, great kit and built to last. This looks fantastic and hope the shell and paint job do it some justice.

I just received a lazer zx-r shell from team bluegroove and have to say its very good. It's made from macrolon, a lexan produced by Bayer. I know this because I use it in my company too, I manufacture aluminium railigs and use the same material for "glass" railings. I also purchased a zx5 shell from kamtec and from what I hear they are good too, can't wait to receive it

I think you mean ZX-S not ZX-5 as they are two different shells. The ZX-S is the one I gave to Kamtec to make a mold so everyone could at least use a shell with this car.

You will have to make a slight change on your servo positioning so buy a set of Associated B2 or B3 servo mounts (should still be available), maybe even B4 may work as this will help push your servo further inwards towards the belt so the shell wont hit the servo back, that is unless you have an S9551 Futaba and then you neednt worry about doing any of that.

The paint job will be the one shown on the zx-r box .
This car must be really like the ones shown at the expositions .... maybe I can lend it to Kyosho if they decide to make a re-edition !!!

However I have to (and so you also have to) wait the body and the undertray from Kamtec ....

The decals instead are already ready .

P.S. I'm glad you (and all other guys here) enjoy this build.

Here's some updates !!

An exploded view of the carefully cleaned rear end .
But hey !!!! Wait a minute .... where are the dogbones ???

Don't worry, they are well stored into their original packet !!
It's really weird that they also show the little rust found on the front universal, however nothing can withstand a WD-40 bath !!!

Hi Ema,
I'm going to post 3 picuteres. One of the Bluegroove body, my car pre disassembly and that chassis I told you about that is what I think to be a law-3. What I can tell you about the Bluegoove body is that it doesn't include the wing sides like the original zx-r.

The body seems nice, I'm sure it will be ok for a shelf queen and I really have to say that your car look nice and clean also before disassembly .

I also quote Isobarick, I think that both chassis are made of FRP, not the same kind but however a sort of FRP.

You (and all other guys) can see the law-3 is here:
