Default B5m steering servo mounting

Any tips or tricks on this

I ran my first race meeting this weekend. Had one incident that resulted in pulled off shock bottom.

Then noticed servo case broken. One set mounting lugz snapped off.

New servo on way. Is it worth putting servo tape underneath to take some pressure off the mounting lugs on the servo.

Was this a freak incident?

I suspect it was due to the force of impact being transferred to the servo because there's no servo saver. I've never broke my servo and I had some hard crashes/landing but my servo is a tight fit and can't move between the mounts.

Taping down the servo should help, might be worth packing the servo sides out so it can't move between the chassis sides. What make of servo was it?

Hi Tony.
Sounds like you might have had the servo mount in the wrong way round for that to happen.
You shouldn't need tape.
The T piece should have the top face of the T part facing forwards towards the front of the car.

Seems a bit odd that.

Ok thanks guys. Will try tape as belt and braces effort.

low profile servo also makes lead foul on the mounting. Need to tickle the post with dremel lol

Servo was a high power alturn. Run them on all my other models with no problems.

Got a savox 1252 to go in there. Wanted to avoid issue happening again.

Love the car. Setup was wrong but loved driving it. Cant believe how fast they are and the grip/turn compared to racing in 1989.... lol

thanks, they round the right way according to pics and manual, found the plastic linkage could actually catch on the servo case if in wrong position

but having looked at pics, Im not sure if mines a B5m LOL, bought used as a B5m, but chassis and plastic bits round it look different to some pics I have seen

maybe different versions of them??

the "incident" wasnt even a biggy, my only one of the day, back got loose on straight, clipped hose, it flipped and pulled bottom mount off the shock

was gutted to find servo case smashed.
