we have all done it but maybe next time we are buying something in the shops instead of looking at the cheapest available we should look for the made in britain label it may cost us a bit more but we will be supporting british industry and british jobs

the italians at immingham are a bit off, there stopping on a floating hotel supplied by thier company and not putting into the local economy
imigration does not work when they all come in and sponge on benifits and the nhs now if they conme in and work and pay into the system thats fair enough, but when there is a full uk workforce who can do the job and they end up unemployed!!

Have you ever stayed in or near immingham?
Give me a floatel any day and im sure you would stay on it, rather than spending out on a B&B and food when the company has provided it for you. It will also have cinemas, gyms, restaurants etc on it. I am for skilled workers coming into the uk, just like i go abroad, they will come here for better money just like i would go to norway or saudi. Its the spongers i dont agree with, to me they are just a different breed of chav If we culled all the chavs then the economy is sure to recover |

Cull a Chav? Mmm.. I like that! This country has just undergone a substantial lurch towards poorer times. I guess it's just the way things work, countries rise and countries fall. It is mostly pretty depressing news, but I can think of a couple of good points;
Have you noticed there's a lot more emphasis on Science & Engineering being talked about? Seems the powers that be have realised you can't run a modern country without it, so the politicians have woken up at last. Shame they didn't consider this years ago, but better late than never. An end to f*cking awful property porn tv with the likes of Kirsty Allsop etc. A return to houses being seen as homes, not get rich quick investment tools. Interesting times. I predict some street riots this summer. |

Meanwhile, Unite are demanding ALL BA staff get inflation plus 2% pay rise while the company is making a £150M loss this year, unbelievable!
Although at this rate that will still be a pay freeze with deflation! |

most other countries have strict rules when it comes to immigration, and working migrants, we don't, and the fact that we have so many illegals, then the immigrants who come on politicial/security grounds, who dissapear into the community before they can be assessed.
I was down Aberystwith over Christmas, and most of the staff in the catering business were Polish, now, at least they were working, but I wouldn't call that a 'skilled' job like nursing etc, so they are taking jobs from local youth/students etc. We all know that foreign workers can bring skills to the workplace that we can't get in the UK, but they also manage to take a lot of menial jobs too. As for the banks, I think the Government should of underpinned the mortgages and loans, and let a bank or two go through the hoop, that would of forced others to clean up their act. The credit system is shit in the UK, I don't have a credit card, I cancelled an account in 2002 with the Halifax, in 2008, they sent me a new card through the post, with a £1000 limit, and when I phoned them to inform them the account was closed 6 years ago, they just so, don't worry, just use it.....

This is true. Our business is really busy right now, and a lot of that is due to the weak pound making our product cheaper overseas which is great. Just a shame there aren't enough other export businesses such as ours to make much of a difference
Here's an interesting fact; Between 1997 and 2007 the UK banking sector contributed £85 Billion in tax to the UK. Sounds like a lot of money eh? until you consider that the official predicted increase in government borrowing that all of us will have to pay due to the banking induced recession is £250 Billion Idiots. |
