Default MAD RAT Noob

Hey guys, just got my first RC, got myself a Ansmann Mad Rat just for fun and a bit of bashing.

im a total noob and dont know the the thing inside out. im wanting to make the car a bit better and upgrade some parts.

i've already got some harder springs all round and ordered some new bumpers but what else will i need?

the more simple you can make the answer the better untill i get some knowledge on RC. links would be real helpful too

thanks guys

The first is to putt the ball bering, and after the shock.

You can take tires from losi or proline, they are better from the mad rat.

they make the bits spin easier, motor works less hard, less heat, batteries last longer - longer runs. cannot believe these cars do not come with the bearings.
Uncle Nick he will sort you out with the Battleaxe you will see, take out the bushings and put in the bearings, lots of smiles

if you want to just have fun, bearing and shocks will be enough. if you want to start racing you need to upgrade a little more your Mad Rat and work on differential, weights, turnbuckles, electronics (esc, motor and servo) and tires. what is granted is that you've bought a great car perfect for fun and racing.

The T piece is under the rear end.

My blog is in french, yes, I'm a french You can see pictures and link.

My must have hop up for bashing is :

-bearing ball set
-alloy shock (kyosho, asso, losi, TQ... whatever)
-better tire front and rear

My must have hop up for racing is :

-the same for bashing plus :
-TC models 22mm turnbuckle and ball end set
-optional motor plate
-b-fast diff kit
-double dee's rear tire and groovy front tire (Jconcept)
-alloy hexagone for wheel

Choose what to buy if you want to bash or race

Depending on when the car was made the T piece might not be an issue, the newer cars are much stronger then the earlier ones were. Positronics must have seen at least 50 packs and thousands of laps and jumps and hasn't broken a single part ever. But get the bearings for sure

How can I know which type I have?
Where does the older type break?
Do you have any photos?
