Get the one that feels best in your hand. If you have the opportunity to hold them do and then decide. They all have 3 million adjustments you don't really need and are both great.
The DX3R s really light and has a very easy menu although some people think it feels a bit cheap. The Futaba is no doubt also brilliant and will control your car just as well. If it's comfy it's right for you. Try not to buy something without having held it first. And it won't actually improve your laptimes the more expensive it is |

Very true, i tried the sanwa, KO and the futaba a few years ago and went for the KO helios. Easy to navigate through the settings and felt nice in the hand I have just recently changed though to the 3pk's 2.4G and this does feel more robust and solid. Can't comment on the spektrum trannies or the new Fut 4pk but the 4pk looks like you can't change the module if you want use an FM module

I like the Spektrum. Although I can't pass judgment on the others not having used them. The wheel on my Spek is really free, although on a friends it is really stiff - It can make quite a difference if your are bit twitchy in the rostrum.

I have had a Helio and a 3pk. The helios is a good radio but I needed the 3rd channel to be more functional so I sold it and replaced it with the 3pk which has performed flawlessly for a number of years, I have recently updated it with a spektrum module which is fantastic to not have to worry about changing xtals or having interferance issues. Like others have said try and get a hold of the different radios to see what feels best, i'm sure most people at the track will let you hold their radio to see how it feels.

I was going to buy the futaba module/reciever combo but they were out of stock so I bought the spektrum, I've not had it very long but I'm not regretting waiting for the futaba.
