Mixing Crystals
I have a Sanwa Gemini II transmitter,
Can you mix a Sanwa Tx crystal and a futaba Rx, off the same frequency of course. |

I always give this answer...
DON'T mix and match radio equipment. Always use the same brand crystals, really always use the same brand TX and RX too as you know it should always work. Some stuff that is advertised as universal might let you down at a crucial moment (I know first hand after my car decided to do pirouettes mid race when fitted with a "Futaba compatible" Hitec receiver). Of course, my answer is usually followed up by at least half-a-dozen others that say things like "KO Trannies work with Futaba RXs on the third Sunday of the month" or "If you dip your crystals in Nutella before use they become compatible with Sanwa". But if you want to be sure stuff works use the same gear throughout. |

My sanwa II works with most recievers, but only using sanwa crystals in both.

It will work fine, as long as you make sure the transmitter uses the same brand crystal as the transmitter itself. Usually they won't work at all if you don't use the manufacturers crystal in the transmitter.
Currently mixing Sanwa, Futaba, Acoms, Hitec, Tekin and JR receivers with JR, Futaba and Sanwa transmitters with no problems.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the reply, sorry i did not make myself clear. I current run a Sanwa Gemini II transmitter with a cirrus receiver, all works OK but I need to change frequency. i have some spare futaba receiver crytals and wondered if it would work ok if i just bought the same frequency sanwa transmitter crystal. |
