Default oOple Invernational weather plans

What are the plans if it is going to p1sh down on the Sunday but dry Friday and Saturday? Should we bring some astro tyres?
Tried posting in the Invernational section but wouldn't let me.

I've just looked at loads of forecasts and there's a small chance of a few showers on sunday. I can't see it moving to the astro but worth having a set of tyres ready.

It rained at last years on the sunday, but it didn't require a move to the astro track. The dirt track was quickly covered up with Wimbledon style covers, and re-opened once the rain had passed. racing was underway in no time, with no change in track due to the rain. The rain covered have been improved now, so quicker to deploy. I think it would have to be very bad rain to move to the astro track, then one might question if it was worth it. Also, the proline tyres do seem to work on the astro. Not mini spike levels of grip, but they are very drivable ;-)

If its just small showers we will just cover the dirt track and allow the rain to pass then start racing again once rain has stopped. If the rain sets in for a long stay then a decision may be made to use the astro track (nobody wants to do this unless it becomes impossible run a meeting on dirt).
The finer points of what to do/what happens if it rains will be covered at drivers briefing.
But,
I'd bring a set of astro wet tyres just in case.

Hi, as Steve says we will endeavour to keep running on the Dirt track at all times.

Depending on how bad the rain gets we may have to move to the astro track but this decision will only take place as a last resort.

It would be wise however to bring a set of suitable tyres for wet astro, Ballistic buggy greens are the likely choice.

We will ensure that you get as much actual racing as physically possible over the weekend plus plenty of fun events for you all to join in with!

Bring it on

We'll be on the dirt, showers won't bother us at all, the new covers are brilliant. Chances of being on the astro are about 5%.
