As I've already said, this looks cool. The very precise shadow on the white and red graphic looks really good.

Wacky Races, top job Mark !
I guess that AMG Merc is Chrome, bet it looks cool in real life, chrome is always a nightmare to photograph, you need a white room or not a lot about to reflect in it, outside can be a bit hit and miss. Good detailing though fella. |

Or go to a large open space, big car park or park when it's quite but you need good sun light ( which isn't going to be easy to come by at the minute ). Doing it this way you'll get a horizon line in the car and you'll get 2 things, either people will realise it's chrome and be very impressed or they'll be even more impressed because they think you've painted all the reflections on the actual shell You do some good work dude, if you could spend a little more time on the photography they'd probably come out a bit brighter. Google photographic set ups and stuff so you can see how the pro's do it. Another idea, perhaps google how to photograph Chrome, it'll be on line somewhere, a photo forum or someone else doing similar showing it off. |

Cheers Ian, i get a bit lazy when it comes to taking pictures, although now i use my camera and not my phone to take the pics so i'm progressing, slowly but surely and i appreciate you saying i'm turning out some good stuff, means more when it comes from someone with as much xp as your self.....i'm learning new stuff all the time with nearly each shell i do, the mistakes are getting less and i'm still really enjoying getting good reactions from pleased customers...

The thing is fella, this is how you present your work to the world, to all your customers and is your record of the finished article before it leaves you for a hard life of racing and rubbing so this is the last time it'll look this pristine. Once you've got it set up it wouldn't take long to do each time, fair enough the chrome is a bit of an arse and does involve some messing about but the white back drop is just a large sheet of white paper, A0 size or whatever, it's as much as keeping it flat somewhere and then taping it to the wall to get the nice pro looking snap. Once you've done it once you'll wonder why you never did it before

It's just that thing you said before about upping your game. Painting wonderful jobs is nothing if the photo's look bad. I reckon you'll be fine when you get going, it's just taking the time to get to the art shop or hobbycraft store and buy a piece of paper big enough to do it on ( get the largest they sell ! ). Once you've got it everything is easier.
