Default Motor Plate

I have finished fitting the heatsink motor plate with longer fins. Will look into the cost of making it now.

By this rate of designing parts, I should have the whole car modelled by Christmas.

I will make this motor plate out of blue Papier-mâché just for you.

It will weight nothing. Just remember to avoid the puddles and don't use it in the rain.

I bow to your design skills, i truly am not worthy!!! It taken me several years to design my chassis, top deck, shock mounts, geabox and others but its taken you two weeks to do. Its a work of art.

Don't flatter me just yet, let's just hope it will solve the issues we are facing

It seems like I can't fit a fan into the rear upper deck mount. Therefore, after seeing the big fins on ron's heat sink motor mount, it seems like that's a better option for the motor's heat dissipation.

I am going to steal that design and anodize it blue.

May be issues with fitting the gear cover with that side spur gear sink. To be honest having a finned motor plate and alloy top deck mount does dissapate the heat really well especially when using an lrp x12 5.5, so the fan isnt really needed.

Oh, don't worry, I won't touch the gear cover side. I want the gear cover to be installed.

Crap! I just stripped the plastic threads on the front gear box! I guess I need to make my alloy & CF front gear box fast because I don't want to open my other NIB front gear boxes.

Welshy, I might be able to make a front gear box that is 3mm higher where it mounts the upper deck, just for you. BTW, to look nice on your centre upper deck mount, I recommend 3 anodized blue aluminum shafts that have threads on both sides which are 3mm longer than the original height that you want. Those 2 items plus the alloy rear upper deck mount, you won't be needing the 3mm spacers anymore.

Sounds interesting, dont forget the diff has to be in the same palce as the original as any higher and youll loose the droop on the front ens so I am guessing the mounts will be raised.

By the way the gearbox you broke the thread on, was it top two holes or the bottom two holes or the chassis Holes.

If top two holes I found the thinnest threadlocked nuts and put between the top deck and gearbox sides and is bolted on.

If chassis then I have modified my car for the chasiss holes and am now using threaded nuts to hold onto the alloy pivot block after a bit of patience and dremelling and filing.

If bottom two front holes that the shock tower goes into then you can get a fractionally thicker screw from Kyosho and does the job well.

Got bored and looked into the rear gear box. It's so crowded in there, it's impossible to re-design it like my front gear box.

So, Welshy, I am just going to wait for your prototype.
