Hobby wing combo for DESC410R?
hello all,
as i am getting ready to order a durango short course i am looking at electrics for it and decided on most of it apart from motor and speedo. i do not have a budget to spend big bucks on electrics and i came across the hobby wing combo on rcmart, here is the link: http://www.rcmart.com/rc-brushless-h...v-p-34566.html however i also came across one similar on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2808441994...#ht_5026wt_880 they look very similar? but what are peoples views on the hobby wing stuff? many thanks lewis

I would personally go with a speed passion combo

As far as i've heard the Hobbywing is the same Hardware as Speed Passion but the programming and profiles are different...
Have been told that Speed Passion software can be downloaded onto Hobbywing hardwire giving a budget competition option. All of above has not been tried in experience so please correct if i'm wrong. Buying abroard will always save money as long as you don't get hit with import duty and the item you are buying is going to be very reliable and not need any aftersales service... which is where buying in UK can win over as repairs replacements can be carried over using warrantys given. Looks like a good budget option to me... although personally i'd buy good branded quality secondhand from reputable people to save the budget possibly more, worth keeping an eye out on oOple trade section as there are bargains to be had |

I brought a £60 esc and motor combo and got charged £20 import tax so that would probably be about £40 import tax, that's £160 and you can get a decent second hand combo for cheaper than that
