Is anyone running a Reedy Sonic 13.5 with a GM90 2010?
As the title suggests, does anyone here run a Reedy Sonic 13.5T with a GM90 2010 Speedo. Preferably in a 1/10th Tourer.
I'm looking for some setup tips to get the best out of this motor. Cheers |

I can only give you gearing advise to be honest because i run a speed passion speedo.
I know what you mean though, i have been looking around the internet for ages looking for any gearing advice out there and the only way i managed to find a gearing was with lots of testing and a temp gun. Gearing you are looking around the 6.5-6 fdr range |

I've been using around 8FDR, a little undergeared for the straight. Unless i up the timing on the can..but then i find the car overshoots the corners in short bursts between corners. This happens if i gear up also.
If i turn the timing down to compensate, I find i can use pretty much full throttle in the infield. Im wondering if to try changing the value of the turbo? and maybe a different start point? |

Here is everything you need to know about setting up the GM ESC:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/7908081-post1851.html Use Martin's settings file, tweak the 4 settings in the guide to: Switchpoint 10,000RPM Fixed Timing 25deg Amp Limit 80degC Motor cutoff temp 120degC (not sure if the Reedy has a temp sensor in it, so this may not do anything). FDR 6.5 And enable 'Variable Dependence Timing' and 'High Speed Timing from Switchpoint' And leave the endbell timing at its neutral position. |

Hey Dale, cheers for them settings. I gave the settings a try at Ardent last night. Very smooth and driveable, just lacked any pull out of the corners.
I think i was rather close before, and now that ive switched the timing around from the can to the speedo. Thats helped with the smoothness. The car didn't have any Rip out of corners though, i found that going for approx 9250rpm switching point and changing the minimum timing for 6 degrees rather than 4 degrees improved the feeling of the car. Many Thanks Browny |
