I just thought because I have some valuable components like my brushless motor and my 2.4ghz reciever module and the ESC maybe they need more protection than a layer of plastic and otherwise it would just be cool to have one lol.

I was thinking of putting my xx4 in a giant hamster ball to protect my electrics it would also keep the car clean to.

Electric r/c cars don't need roll cages dude. The relative light weight of the car means that the bodyshell is sufficient to protect the delicates from any impact.

you really don't need anything like a roll cage don't worry about the electrics they are well protected, roll cages arn't even really needed for trucks either! You won't find or see any D4 or any other proper 1/10th 4wd or 2wd buggy with a roll cage!

Hey edd, As you can see by the reactions to your post roll cages are a bit of a no-no
Seriously though, the bodyshell is more than capable of withstanding massive punishment. I've even had a clubmate step on my car rather heavily and slip on it and it survived |

Ye, i dont know about on a D4 but alot of cars dont actually hit the shell when they roll, on a B4 the way the shocktowers and wishbones stick out the shell never touches the floor on flat surfaces.

If you're that worried about the electrics, take it all out and push the car round.
Its good that you care for your stuff, it is valueable afterall. Its all designed to take the knocks and abuse within the boundaries of normal use (and sometimes beyond), so, aslong as your not trying to do something crazy it'll be fine. |

yeah I get what you mean guys, just thought it would be cool to have one just in case because I'm going to be doing a lot of crazy stuff lol, luckily i have a trained group of 4 eleven year olds to catch my car with a carpet, lets just hope they do
