Default MRC shell for the B44 & BJ4we

Russian RC company Micro RC (www.microrc.ru), have contacted us to show off their lightweight body and wing set for the Associated B44 and JConcepts BJ4we. The new shell is shown here in prototype form and will be moulded in lightweight 0.5mm polycarbonate.

The body looks to be heavily influenced by the original JConcepts shell - along with smatterings of the Kyosho prototype shells seen at the 2007 Worlds.

MicroRC can be contacted via http://www.microrc.ru or info@mircorc.ru.

It looks as B-Mag has had something to do with the moulding

It's hideous. Not as hideous as the CAT SX shell but hideous nonetheless.

It really looks like a JConcepts B44 body with some minor changes, like the front window

Before you start slagging him off why don't you guys try and do better? No? didn't think you could.

I think I had a chat with the guy that had something to do with this and he is really cool. If I'm correct he is operating on a very small budget and I happen to think he's done a really good job. I especially like the wing., keep up the good work dude!

I said I thought the shell looked ugly, not that the guy who penned it was stupid.

I don't like the roof part and the windows are too round for my liking. The front window I find is pulled too far back which looks odd. One of the things I don't like about the Cat SX as well.

About the fact that someone from Russia is making a shell, great and good luck to him! And obviously if he's into RC he can't be half bad

i don't think white is the best colour here.... would be interesting to see it with a proper paint job...

I also agree with sparrow 2. I think it could be alot better if it had a better paint scheme.. Im just not to sure about the front window and the wierd and unusual features (meaning the front window ).

it will do.. however i reckon every shell of any buggy (1/10 or 1/8) should be copies of the losi 8ight buggy as that shell is amazing!

Interesting effort,i like the idea of a lightweight shell. However large negative surfaces struggle to work well as they can look weak and fussy. (roof/frontwindow and shoulder line of the above). . this would be a point i would give to any bodyshell designer. These concave negative surfaces are quite common on a lot of buggy shell designs, maybe it has to do with trying to make somthing different? why? One colour allows you to read the form of the shell, something that would be hidden by a paint scheme. i would choose silver for the next effort as it gives u a better contrast. It may make for a boring advert but i wish proline would do this so u can see the shape of their shells. Good job none the less.

I agree that negative lines can look a little weird, but, a bodyshell is not all about form right? Negative shapes are sometimes needed to channel air and this makes them functional. Function plays a large part in a good shell for me, the trick is blending form with function.

I think it looks a bit like like a Dali painting of a normal bodyshell...

I'm not too convinced about the melted effect, to be honest...

But hey, perhaps there might be some sort of aerodynamic advantage... and besides beauty's in the eye of the beholder and all that jazz, right?
