We were actually very lucky with the timing of the rain showers.

Saturdays rain was during the lunch break and just before finals.

Sunday afternoon we had a massive shower miss us by about half a mile and the shower before finals was another big one that we just caught the fringe of.

If the rain we saw overnight was during the day we'd have had no chance.

Any feedback on the catering or anything else is appreciated - if you were running the meeting what would you have run differently?

All I've had back so far was the cups of tea were 70p which some thought was expensive, so we'll cut that to 50p. I simply based the price on Stotfold national the week before where tea was £1/cup - hence cut it to what i thought was fairer.

Cant to anything about the rain but hope you enjoyed it!

James

Food all weekend was excellent and well priced.
The meeting was run great apart from the lenth of the break between heats and finals on sunday. If we had just ran the finals then we might have all avoided the rain.

Mike, thanks for the photographs, I particularly like the one of my car ahead of Craig's and Ben's, I was up to second at that point, but it didn't last too long. Much appreciated.

James ... the meeting was run exceptionally well. Catering was great quality, and I thought very fair prices. Track was immaculate considering the conditions. I've got to add, considering I brought my family along, it's a great venue for the caravan and kids to accompany racers to events. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for everyone's effort.

Good point on the above post re the break and the weather. The dark clouds to the north were very visible at the end of Rd 4. Made the tyre choice simpler though, as the track was drying out enough for Schuey yellows.

Other than that, I think the venue is fantastic and it was run to match.

Best things about the venue ...
  • Private land - no local chavs passing by!
  • Loads of room to pit & camp.
  • On site cafe with decent food & drink at good prices (nothing wrong with 70p for a cuppa James - and I happily put my change in your donation box).
  • On site toilets
  • "3D" track, not just grass and wood ramps - love it.

Nice to hear that the track was ok for people, we had a large team of people there for the entire Easter weekend, laying new astro, pressure washing the astro, hoovering, weeding, painting etc.

Glad it was worth it.
