Default 17.5 SP MMM touring setup

Been looking for a tekin rs pro setup for a 17.5 brushless SPassion MMM motor
(touring medium size carpet circuit)
Can anyone share their setup or direct me to where I can find one please.

Do I just max out everything ? should I worry for overheating the engine ?

10v cap should be fine as long as you stick to 2s. What servo is it?

Default tekin gen2 motors rpm or high torque?

Hi

I have been looking in much interest with the new tekin motors I am currently running an RS pro and a 13.5 redline motor for touring car 2 cell lipo on high turbo settings. Can u tell me which of the new motors would be most suitable for this touring car racing I presume it would be the rpm version?

Thank you

Chris

The RPM version would be suited for either a very large track OR pan car. For most TC Stuff I'd stick to the regular version.

Hi Randy,

Thanks your response the tracks I race at are indoors and mostly carpet surface and also a rubberized floor and certainly are large tracks. Therefore I had better get hold of the high toraque version.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, am after a good starting point for running a 6.5/rs pro in a vega 2wd. Track is high grip carpet with a 30metre straight. Failing that, a 10.5 setup.
Any help appreciated, Cheers

Kev Lee uses a 7.5 and I have a setup for that. But looking at his 7.5 setup try:

Boost 25
5k start, 20k end
no turbo
10 degrees on the motor
sensored only mode
Current Limiter 75
Throttle profile 3
DB 10
BS 100

25/78 in a RB5

Default tekin RS

Hi Randy.

i did try to log on to the forum but since it is down i have now asked thhe question here.

my question to you is,

i want to get a tekin rs esc. i know on the website it says a max of 7.5T motor but sine i have not got one yet i want to use my hobbywing 5.5T 540 can 6000kv motor. this will be run off a 2s lipo 5300 50-100 amp.

will the esc handel it all? and if so, for how long please befor i got to worry?

i should say i will be running on astro and it is off road racing - 1/10t buggy.

i plan on running it in about 4 -6 meetings over 2 months while i get my 2 cars built correctly etc..

all info and help will be greatly appreciated.

cheers
levon

I think you will find the 7.5 motor limit is for 2wd only, and I guess with a 5.5 motor you would be running 4wd? In any case for any motor 7.5 or quicker in 2wd or almost any motor in 4wd I would say you would need the RS Pro as we do not run blinky or stock spec in 1/10th off road.
I've seen people running RS Pros in 4wd and needing 2 caps on the esc and some even a fan, so I guess from that a RS would not last that long before thermalling.

Sweet, if you're going to run 1S or 4 cell you will need either voltage booster or to run a separate receiver pack.

well i was looking at getting a few capasitors inline with the batterys and on the rx side so i know it will not drop and be to bad.

but this is a whole new ball games for me so i will have to do a lot of homework and a lot of testing and trail and error.

I'm certain, it has been posted before but it is quite a hassle to read through 1.400 posts.

Just read through the manual that came with my RS Pro, but could not find it.
How does one set it up to the blinky status?

thx

It won't be in the Manual, but if it is updated with latest software, on the ESC you set it to TP - 1 LED.
