What gearing on a TM2 for 7.5 motor
As the per the title really - just finishing off building my TM2 & I just wanted to confirm what gearing (pinion) would be a good starting point - my motor is a 7.5 LRP X20 & shall be mostly racing indoors at Silverstone
Thanks in advance Dan |

To start I ran the standard 21 which powers out the corners well but you just top out straight away on the straight. The 23 is nice and smooth and gives you a good end of straight speed but out the corners I found it was a bit slow. The 22 is the best I would say. I used it for the first time at the weekend regional and I ran it yestarday. I doesn't top out neither does it lack out of the corners. I run the X20 6.5, it's preety quick anyway but i guess its what you prefer. Hope this help's Steven

At regional i ran 24t pinion with a little turbo. I also turned up the punch on speedo to get it off corners... Was plenty fast enough

Thanks guys!
Steven - I guess your gearing is what you run with the 6.5 LRP? Jay - Ironically I had a 24tooth pinion in mind as seemingly being what would work ok, but my 24t pinion is one of the old Losi ones (& I mean REALLY old!) that is about as wide as the RW spur gear & I just can't squeeze it on when the motor is in place - so its currently got a 23 fitted. As I'm not going to run any boost I wonder if my 25 would be OK? |

Thank again everyone - going to start out with the 25 pinion as you suggest Alec & i'll see how I go from there
P.S; @ Alec did you run any 'boost' on the Hobbywing ESC in your TC02? |

I am running a 25t pinion with my HPI flux 8.5 motor. I started off on the 21 based on the manuals advice but swapped it out after around 3 laps of practice as it was totally gutless. Nought to flat out was almost instant, but there after it would have gone quicker if I had got off the rostrum and pushed it down the straight....
