C4.1 Chassis

hey Viking! Didn't mean to sound negative at all, I'm just talking out of my own experience with several cars where personally I didn't like weight placed to the sides of the chassis (and up front).

I also plan to use the car on dirt tracks, where weight balance is a n°1 issue.

Note that I also developed this brace in cooperation with a Belgian C4.1 driver

It's ok. It's just a test to see if it would work. Im also making carbon side brasing as vell
On friday I sould have my first C4,1 gearbox in carbon fiber ready.

like carpenterdean has done earlier in this thread, all you need is two braces, nothing to complicated, an it also helps protect electrics.

Off coarse if it handles , then tweaked chassy or not, there coming off!!.

let us know what you think about the handling, i honestly didn't notice any difference, but then again i'm just an average joe when it comes to racing, somebody with honed skills may notice.
By the way i prefer your black carbon ones to my G10, ones nice job

Has anybody took their chassis off and checked it with a brand new one? A friend of mine, who has been struggling with a good setup tried changing his chassis for a new one and found the front kick up on the alu chassis was about 5 degrees more, he hasn't had any major crashes and is convinced it must have been like that from new? It's almost like running loads more anti squat/caster on the front, surely it must make the car totally different? Anybody?

The bulkhead that goes on top of it also had the same angle in it, so if your chassis has more kickup, you should have a hard time fitting it all together.

Yes i had this problem, changed chassis twice. I now have the Cougar sv2 and it is much better!

Well, I was hugely impressed with the Rudebits chassis after running it on Sunday at Arena X. To be only a lap down on the top boys with an unknown and untried car, and finish third in the A final speaks volumes. It took all the abuse I could muster and shrugged it off!

Now, if I can just get it to work at Worksop next week.... ;-)

To be fair it's a mixture of carpet and wood. Tyre selection being crucial. Also some of the most relaxed and fun racing I've enjoyed thus far. Anyone in the area should really haul arse down there and say hi!

Hi Jay,

Arena X is a mixture of carpet and wood. What do I think I've gained? Well, how about no more bent chassis' at forty quid a pop! Yes it's expensive. But, it's exquisitely made, and the weight kit fit is perfection. I'm still experimenting with setups. I had one major off with it during practice and I was sure it was going to be wrecked as I wandered across the track to collect the 'remains'.... but not a scratch! I suppose ultimately that the top 5% of drivers might notice a difference with handling when comparing with the alloy chassis. Or maybe they won't. Who knows. That's the problem being an early adopter I guess. Don't take my word for it, try one. We all drive differently and one setup won't suit everyone.

When I first ran the Centro I had so much conflicting info about how to set it up for a known venue that I just thought sod it, I'll go my own way...

The RudeBits chassis looks amazing and was great on high grip tracks especially urbanX a few months back! There is definitely a big difference between the chassis not just the look

Interesting to see that Cragg and Bradby are running the Rudebits chassis.

Wonder where CML stand now on their choice of chassis material? £160 looks like quite a lot of money for a conversion where you will basically throw out the chassis, or at the very least spend extra money on reinforcing it before it turns a wheel.

There is nothing wrong the standard C4.1....... If there was no development in our sport then Neil Cragg would still be using the gold tub associated car - LOL
Unfortunatetly at the sharp end of competition, it never stands still and this is simply the next stage......

Have cml ever officially commented on the chassis bending or on the fact that Cragg and Bradby are using the rudebits chassis. If not i certainly think they should.
