Default transponders

do you have to have one to race, what type does the club use. does it plug into the rx, if so am I right in thinking that it would have to be a 3 channel. thanks.

They use MyLaps transponders. You can buy them direct from the club or borrow one for the day, if there's any left.

They plug into your receiver, any spare plug, either ch3 or battery (they only need power from it). Just plug in, tuck away and the transponder does the rest, really easy.

If you can afford the extra tenner get the Mylaps Harry Transponder. It is backwards compatible and will work with the latest and older systems. That will also allow you to race at other tracks as well.
