Default WRCA man of the season award

Ok, here's an idea. Its kind of a "man of the match" award trophy that is handed to a person at the end of a season.

This person doesn't have to be the fastest person, or the person who has attended the most rounds, but simply for things like track etiquette, racing improvement, general helpfulness or possibly just volunteering to marshall.

I propose that a person is firstly nominated by someone, then after nominations we have a simple vote either here on oOple, or other means.

The person who is then in award should receive a trophy or shield which gets handed back every year similar to the L8 trophy at COBRA.

Please comment on this idea and i will propose it at the AGM or maybe prior as the award could be presented there.

Owen should get it for most improved young driver, or simon hurds for the "I haven't lost my thumbs in all the years off" award

It's a good idea that Jamie

Top driver would have to be Owen, he has come on so much this season. He'll be kicking all our arses if he sticks at it a few more years.

Could make it a ballot, even an e-ballot put up a poll on oOple as well as votes at EGM or EOS meeting. I recon it's got millage Jamie.

I asked H about it several weeks ago and haven't heard anything since. Instead ive proposed it for the WRCA AGM in November so i guess it will go to a vote or discussion.

If it doesn't come about through the WRCA, then im sure i can find a sponsor myself and get it organised for the end of the Indoor season. Either way it WILL happen Dave.

Personally i think it should be a driver. We all know that the WRCA committee do a grand job but this trophy would be aimed more at driver who has been there throughout the summer, supported other racers in the form of lending parts, giving up their time to help fix as well as marshaling good conduct e.t.c.

But, its up to everyone else what they think it takes to be the winner.

The other option Millzy would simply be to put H's name forward when it comes about and see what happens. In theory i cant see why we couldn't nominate any WRCA member including committee members.
