RC10 Worlds re release CVD issue
Hi All,
During the build of my Rc10 Worlds re release car, I have found one of the CVD drive shafts does not move/rotate smoothly once ensuring the pin is fully through the CVA axle. It's as almost as if the CVA axle has not been drilled correctly and is slightly off set. Anyone else seen this, any fix or is this a new CVA axle? I also found the transmission ruff as nails - although I have read it will bed in after a first run. Cheers Simon

Hi Simon,
The gearbox will take around 4-5 meetings to bed in and run free. All re-re are the same, dont worry about the box matey. Just make sure you have the updated layshaft, so the first slipper plate does not rub the motor plate. The axles a friend had the same issue with one. This was the hole in the CVD/AXLE was drilled off center enough to bind it as you have stated. He got a exchange for it..... Hope that helps. |

That's great thanks! I will try to get a replacement axle - not sure how well that will work as I bought it from amain in the US, but will try!

I have the bad layshaft in my kit I just got. The bearing had to be forced onto the end, the slipper plate touches the motor plate and it's really tight. I fitted a B3 layshaft I have just changed, and it fits fine and is much smoother. I will try and get a replacement, but I might have to buy a new one.....

B4 layshaft is what is needed.... The layshafts were changed in later re-re kits with the b4 layshafts. You may have a early kit re-re ? Also the idler gears had a high spot, this is why they need running to bed in so the gearbox will also be very rough and tight until run..........
