Right this is really bugging me now. I've tested the sensor lead and there are no electrical breaks in it. The receiver plug is fine. The power cap made no difference. It doesn't happen at the lowest speed but it seems to appear at about 1/4 throttle and go away past about 1/2 throttle. So its either the motor or the speedo. Has anybody successfully run this combo?

Also the motor seems to be getting hotter faster than when I was using the Xcelorin ESC.

Could it be that a FET has gone in the speedo?

Now things are getting even worse. I was just about to unsolder the motor to test it on another speed control when as soon as I touched the iron to the joint the RCD in my house tripped. I reset it and it tripped again this time as soon as I switched the iron on. The thing is it only does it in the socket with the cooker switch not any of the other sockets. Do I need to bin it and get a new one?

I have an LRP sxx stock spec ESC which works perfectly with LRP, speed passion and tekin redline motors, but will not work at all because of stuttering on my 2 losi 6.5 and 1 losi 8.5 motors.( although these work fine on my losi and team orion esc's)

also one of my racing friends has a TC spec esc and fitted his losi 6.5 motor to it and the same problem occured, stuttering.
changed to a tekin motor and all was fine.

In my view the losi motors just do not like the sxx esc's, please dont ask me why as i do not know, just 9 months of trying different motors has bought me to that conclusion.

Thank you, just the advice I was looking for. I'm going to try a new motor then before paying to get the esc repaired.

Does anybody know if the HPI PRO FLUX motors work with these speedos?

Have you tried a new sensor lead?

Have the same problem with my sxx tc its the version 2. Running a 6.5 x12 octa. It cogs quite badly when just setting off/low speeds and completey goes away when past half throttle . I have tried a sxx comp v2 with the same motor sensor lead etc and it works perfectly. Has anyone sussed this out yet? might try a software update worth a shot for the £20 usb. Cheaper than another £180 esc.

Default Here is a thought - bad motor sensors?

Perhaps it could be the sensors and not the ESC? The sensors are exhangable and one or more may have gone bad/be in need of cleaning. Perhaps sensor alignment is also an explanation to why some motors work well with certain ESCs whereas others do not?

Saying a systems coggs up to half throttle makes me suspect the sensor in the motor rather than the ESC.

I've now replaced my Losi 6.5 with a LRP 6.5 and while it stuttered a bit at first it turned out that because it was a new capacitor it just needed breaking in. It's smooth as silk now.

Also my Losi 6.5 with a LRP sphere has no problems what so ever.

No capacitor should need breaking in, are you sure the problems gone away completely?

Yup, did you hear what it was like during the bury regional? Well after you had gone it started getting better and now it is smooth as a smooth thing!
