I know the Durango version is €299 so I'd imagine about the same.

Crazy money but interesting.

That motor/lipo layout looks like it would make a great DB1 style 2wd....but as a 4wd is all the weight too far back?

Hi all....

Thanks for te interest. The first prototype version arrived with us on friday and was built up over the weekend. The car is ready minus wheels/tyres and electrics, just waiting for the body to come back from being painted and it will get its first run maybe this weekend or into next week now.

There are several more pictures of the car on our X-Factory facebook page and also from there severl of the big news websites have been reporting on it today also incluidng Area 52 and Red RC, there is a full info page now up on the Team Azarashi website too.

We will be doing a small press release on it tommorow confirming a few detials too, we are also hoping we may have the confirmed price for the UK by then also, but if not it will be ASAP. I expect the full RRP to fall betwwen £200/250 (but individual dealer prices will no doubt vary) but bare in mind it is of the highest quality and from Japan so dont expect it to be too cheap......

The motor is actualy back by about 2/3rd of a motor length, since the stubby LIPO is longer than a normnal saddle, the weight balance is actually quite inetersting and overall it is a VERY light car that requires ballast to make it up to the weight limit (and there is handy pocket for that ballast to sit right in the front half of the chassis) keeping the front to rear bias in check.

As for a good 2wd conversion, I dont think so, not in my opinion...

More news as we get it.

I'd imagine it's be the wider slipper and bulkhead spacing on the 44.2.

wow £250 plus stubby lipo plus low profile servo plus ballast weight gonna be expensive for the average b44.1 owner to convert

Rich is correct, the centre bulkhead spacing to accomodate the VTS slipper is too wide for this car, only the original B44 or B44.1's are suitable.

However in my opinion that may not be a bad thing.... anyone who has just spent out good money on a B44.2, "probably" wants to run it as just that..a B44.2, but owners of older B44's or B44.1's who fancy a change or a freshen up may just see the Grayseal as the option for them and in most cases it will still be cheaper than buying an all new 4wd car....

Indeed, coming from Japan we knew it would never be cheap, it looks likely that we are homing in on a UK RRP of £235 (still to be confirmed and set in stone) however a TLR22 kit is RRP £235 and they are widely avialable for anything from £185+ in the shops....

Stubbies, many people now own already with the current crop of 2wd's, similair for low profile servos

The full conversion will include;
  • Carbon Fibre slimline main chassis
  • Carbon Fibre slimline front top deck
  • Carbon Fibre slimline rear top deck
  • Carbon Fibre (4mm thick) front shock tower
  • Carbon FIbre (4mm thick) rear shock tower - that can take AE B44 or Yokomo BMax wing mount options
  • Carbon Fibre battery strap
  • Low profile servo mounts and mounting hardware
  • Clear Lexan "Grayseal" ultra low bodyshell
  • Clear lexan undertray
  • Titanium countersunk screw kit for underside of car
  • Azarashi Grayseal decal sheet
  • Instruction manual
