Default PR Racing

Here's something a bit different to feast your buggy eyes on! Very rare in the UK (to say the least!)

The PRS1 2WD is a lovely wee car so I hope the 4WD is too!

Both will be running at Benfield this weekend.

They are lovely quality! The 2WD comes with two gearboxes to build it Rear or Mid motor. Needs no aftermarket bits at all.

The 4WD is state of the art and comes with a center diff. Still not sure how good they are yet, but a preliminary drive was promising. Still not available in the UK. Yet.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Thanks Steve. It came from Hobby Pro USA. Not a cheap way to buy a car! Well over £300 by the time it gets here.

It'll be a while before they'll be for sale from a UK supplier. Shame really.

If you really want one, let me know.

Plenty spares for the 2WD, but none at all for the 4WD! Gulp! Should be getting some soon...

If anyone wants a brand new 2wd version (Precirotate not Hobby Pro version) I have one for sale at way less than the US price and better spec http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161621

I would add that the car looks really good similar to a RC10 with a centro kit in mid version and quality of the shocks etc. are really high. Also there are two version the precirotate and hobby pro same car but the precirotate has a more options parts as standard I am led to believe.

There loads on the cars on the RCTech forum as this car has a bigger presence in the US.

Thanks for the link Gunny! Looks like they don't have much in the way of 4WD parts yet, but I'll give them a go.

Jimmy.

A few more bits 'n' bobs on there, but not the vital parts. Mind you, my Swedish isn't too great!

Sorry about that, forgot to switch the site to English before linking....

There is a language select at the bottom right that switches the whole site to English, might be a bit easier for you.

It went OK.

The worst thing is that the car is a bit noisy! Don't like a noisy car. Looks like it's the front gearbox mesh being is a little tight. All metal diff ring and diff pinion, so getting it really quiet might be a struggle.

The car handled OK. Being in saddle configuration makes it a bit on the heavy side for driving indoors on a slippy floor. I might re-configure it to shorty layout for the next round.

In round 4 of the qualifying I got into a barrel roll after the big double jump and thumped a brick wall at terrifying speed. Broke the lugs off the top of the gearbox that hold the shock tower and snapped the front top deck. OUCH!

I bodged a repair for the finals which held up OK, but the car was a bit weird.

Overall though, quite happy. Different driving technique for the middle diff which involves staying on the power as much as possible at all times. ie into a corner as neat and calm as you can, then start giving it power as soon as possible to keep it pulling out the corner. definitely feels different to the slipper. Still not sure it's actually any better though....

There's a good forum on RC Tech on this car:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...oad-buggy.html

And some further pictures of may car have made it onto PetitRC:
http://www.petitrc.com/setup/prracin...1/SB401_Jimmy/

Thanks to those of you who are interested in the car!

Jimmy

Got the car quietened down a bit now. Shimmed the diffs slightly as they were both running a little loose. The car isn't silent or anything, but is reasonable. Ran it at a local club today and considering I was using some pretty dud old tyres it ran well.

Qualified in 3rd (A) but couldn't take part in it as I damaged the front shock on the wall during a particularly lurid display of out of control driving. (my fault).

So, still quite happy!
