Default Orion V2 brush tubes

Just been redoing my motor and noticed the tubes have had a corner snap off and the fact the springs never seem to be well seated in the hoods and I keep thinking they'll pop out.
Anyone have this

just crimp in the top end of the tube slightly with some long nose pliers if the spring keeps popping out. This is what everyone did when the V2's first came out.
