Default Exceloin speedo issue

Went racing on Wednesday but speedo packed up as soon as i got there.

It's got a symptom like the old brushed motors used to get.

Press trigger... Nothing. Give wheels a little spin with the throttle on it works. Got a sticky brush type fault, but it's brushless.

I have tried

New sensor cable
Setting it up to transmitter, for/rev/neutral
Updated firmware.

It's quite a weird fault as it works if the wheels are given some help so hopefully someone can advise if there is anything I can try.

The 6.5 system is about 18 months old now but only been used for about 20 meetings so I would say it's not had much use.

Weird.....

I would try another motor first. Sounds like a sensor issue to me.

Done some testing tonight, (I have the same 6.5 system in other car)

Def the speedo itself, tried motor and sensor wire and radio gear.

Guess I need to call horizon, the system was purchased from dms and even though it's had hardly and use it's now 18+ months old.

I'm in too minds now, I got a second hand sphere for 50 quid few months ago for another car.

I hope the repair costs are cheap!

Has anyone ever had a similar problem with their brushless speedo and know if the issue easy to fix, maybe something I could check out and replace the part myself?

I had the same problem at the Batley regional same speedo. I tried everything opened the case as well to see if anything in there. I have to bin it now as nothing I could do with it. I had changed the wires on it so I think I damaged something inside with the heat of soldering.

Only soldering been done on this one is at the motor end.

I have just called horizon and the speedo is now discontinued....

So no chance of repair

They did say it sounds like the sensor circuit within the speedo.

I plan to get inside the thing once I'm back at work next week and inspect just incase it's a dry joint.

I'm gonna post a new thread on fixing the sensor circuit. Hopefully someone may know. As if this has happened to me it prob gone happen to someone else too.
