I think its 5mm and 1500g, as for set-up, I think I have a set-up sheet around somewhere, will have a look for you.

Hi, the rulebook is at:

http://www.brca.org/BRCA/library/BRCA2009.pdf

The bits you need are:

6.5
Touring Car Dimensions (car/chassis to be placed on an 8mm block for purposes of
measuring roof height):
(mm) Min Max
Wheelbase 250 270
Width (without body) 170 190
Width (with body) 175 200
Length (inc. body and wing) 360 460
Height (to top of roof) 120 175
GT/GTO height (to top of roof)100 175
Wing width inc. 125 190
Wing chord 40
Wing endplate 40 x 25
Wing overhang (at rear) 10
Wheel Dia (excl.tyre bead) 46 50
Wheel width inc.bead 18 26
Tyre width (across sidewalls) 27
Tyre diameter

(when mounted on wheels) 52
Ride height (indoors only) 5

6.7
The minimum weight, including personal transponders but not handout transponders:

4WD 6-cell/LiPo = 1500g, 4WD 5-cell = 1425g, 4WD 4-cell = 1350g, Front wheel drive/2WD = 1400g.

For set-ups, check the teamassociated.com website, go through the kits to the TC5 section and there's a link there. Otherwise, there's lots been said at aeforums.com.

HTH.

cheers for the info lads. is this setup for indoor? low or high grip track

after few tweeks last saturday the setups very similar, differnce is the hex spacing i got 2mm rear, 1mm rear, thicker shock oil. ive just set the car up to these settings hopfully it go well next club night cheers

i have to admit the TC5 is a great car, alot of people dislike it saying they forever need tweeking. actually alot easyier to drive then my tamiya tb evoultion on low grip surfaces. love to try out a xray and a mi4 see if they are actually a better car as most people make them out to be. just the prices put me off slighty atm

just like to add the TC5 is a strong car, i just wish i could keep in a servo that dosnt break,3 rounds i raced the car, i actually gone through 3 servos (cheap acoms and 2x cheap std. futaba) and there not even crashes i broke them. Its when i just clip the corner on full lock it seems to damage the teeth. Is it too much ATV on the transmitter? as i noticed it was actually touching the hubs

The set-up I posted was used indoor, on a track consisting of mainly Prima Duo (the fluffy stuff) and Prima GT. TC5's are a good car, I was having problems with mine for a while, it would change the way it handled mid-way through a race, but it wasn't tweaked when it came off the track Thankfully now, it does seem a bit more consistent in its handling

yeah same issue was with mine. the car would struggle for rear grip though the race and about 4th minute the car gets it act together and drives like i want it too. i just dremel'ed the top deck as i herd gives more flex and extra grip. these rubber tyres are a pain lol. using foams was alot easyier because there was plently of componds to choice from

I've found that running softer compounds on the rear are a great help to the handling. I was running RP24's all round, swapped over to Sorex 28's on the front and it made the car far more balanced

only problem i got is that the series i am doing is controlled tyre type, only sweep 32's are allowed so trying to get car set balanced on the track for that

the car was good to handle i must to admit i was very consistant on the track. but wasnt using full potentional power. to keep the car stable.

saturday i was running:
5mm ride height
-1.5 camber front , -2.0 rear
no hex spacing
sweep 32 tyres all round, using tyre additive full rear, inside on front (due to leaving my tyre warmers at home)
3b shock posision all round
blue springs all round (dunno what oil was used from previous owner)
black rear anti-roll bar, front silver roll bar
1.5mm droop

mods i done for this saturday:
done the shock oil as 50wt front 35wt rear
dremel'ed top deck same as your car
-2.5mm rear camber, -2.0 rear toe in
ride height at 6mm,
tamiya yellow springs (14.8) i think compared to robs blue springs i borrowed for B.I.W.S (which are 17.0)
repossioned all my weights evenly on the chassis
hex spacers 2mm rear, 1mm front
then just other daft stuff like advanced the timing on motor. turned down the drag brake on the novak gtb to setting 2. something tells me i done too many changes

too many changes at once mate.ive found with both my tc5r's that its best to change one or maybe 2 things then try it.trial and error got me to the point i am now.im chuffed with my tc5's,althought the car with lowered rear bulkheads and tir front diff does seem to be more dialed out the 2.
as for tyres i mainly use sorex 28's or sometimes rp30's.good alrounders normally with very little grip roll on most carpets over 5 minute heats.

now after saturday night the car is very stable and planted into the corners, very stable indeed. after a bit of help from the lads down the club. got the set up i wanted. i however changed the tamiya springs for team assicioted springs (blue - front/silver - rear) and gave the car little more droop, just would like to say thank you for everybodys advice and help, cheers

The weight restriction is 1350g in all classes. I took all the lead off then put enough back on to make the car balanced and came in at 1374g.

I cant make a direct comparison how the car felt as I did had done a little bit of work on the setup at the same time and i've not driven the car enough at 1500g to be particularily in tune with it. I think It would be interesting to hear what people think of the difference who have more experience at the 1500g on their opinions on the lower weight, 10% reducion is a fair bit.

And i havent even evenly balanced the car left/right yet!

Modified is going to be awesome
