SHORT COURSE STAGGERS OR SPIKES?!?
HI everyone,
just wondering what the consensus is on front tyre choice on 2wd SC trucks. I am running mine on sandy astro and not sure which way to go....used to using schuy mini spikes on grass and astro indoors and trimming to suit but wondered if staggers would be better - considering how good they are on buggies. However I know it's not a fair comparison so looking for people who have experience with both to steer me in the right direction! Any views/ advice about this and inserts would be great cheers

When I tried them, they have MEGA steering compared to minis - which I didn't expect at all. I couldn't get a nice balance and thought minis were better/easier.
As always, YMMV, so give some a whirl and know for sure! |

I have seen a few cut the outside rib off.
I used them on 4WD and they were great |

Staggered tyres
I agree I've tried them and there is way too much steering...
So I've gone back to spikes and cut to track conditions

Cheers for all the feedback guys....think I will stick to what I know this time!!
What inserts are best in peoples opinion - seen a few brands now selling closed cell foam ones....is it best to go with a stiffer insert in SC tyres....schuy for example only do hard comp or the closed cell....would a softer not generate more grip or would the height of the wall mean tyres would fold & be more unstable!? Or softer rear harder fronts??

I always use closed cell inserts apart from when i used the staggers. They just didnt seem right so used Schumacher U6772.
