David Leslie
Sorry News
You have most probaly have read heard about David Leslie being killed in the air crash. His sons and David have been frends of our family for some time and have raced RC cars in the past, David has been a good supporter of RC racing. The two boys have raced in our region from time to time and David has always been there helping. A Great Guy and a Great loss sadly missed. Phill Truman |

Sorry to hear that Phil, when i saw the news i remembered you being involved with the Nissan BTCC team and wondered if you knew him...
For the past few years at the Goodwood FOS he's been awesome, usually setting the quickest times of the weekend in the GT 350Z and i'm sure they'll have a fitting tribute for him this year, along with Colin Mcrae. It won't be the same without either of them there, RIP

I never met David but saw him at a few kart meetings as I believe he had a good relationship with the Scottish karters like Susie Stoddart, etc.
I was particularly impressed with his knowledge during commentating for Eurosport (?) whether it was touring cars or endurance racing. It is a shame about the loss of Richard Lloyd too as he has such a huge reputation within motorsport circles. The plane crash has affected me greater as it occurred less than half a mile from my house! |

Like MAttADH I came across him a few times in my past life covering meets at Knockhill and places and he always seamed to be a people person if you understand me. Like Colin M he was probably not so well known, but will be equally well missed. Sad. So sad. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
