Default NEAM race at seaham! (:

Tonight's racing was class! even though i got so stressed out and broke 2 hubs! a shock pin and a diff gear! Glad i have a spare's car!

Been modding the car all week just little tweek's like 13 degree hub carriers, lowered 20mm rear 19mm front, 30w rear shock oil and 35w front shock oil!, what a big difference! the car fly's now!.

I've just finished rebuilding both front and rear diffs too! there perfect, very smooth and tight. i really dont know what was wrong last time it worked.

Here's a few pics of my car and broken part's, let me know what you think! cheer's!

Also thank's for everyone for help and advice again!

Alright declan, glad you enjoyed your 2nd night racing again, your buggy seemed to go pretty well round the track and looked good too............heres a link you might be interested in !!!

Stronger Kevlar diff gear set, will sort you out

Also what turn motor are you using and did you manage to get your steering sorted out ?

Hello Declan

Have you looked at the manual to see how many shims you need to put on the outdrives and layshaft to take up play. Taking up the play will help to prolong the life of the diff gear. Worth a try!

Default racing woooo

Hii I've been working on the car and i sorted both diff's at last! i shimmed both and replaced the gears, greased bearings and washers and now both diff's are smooth and tight! the diff's last time just wouldn't work properly!, I am going to buy Kevlar diffs but there's no stock .

I loved my first race but then after that i couldn't stop crashing and braking stuff! i think i try to fast to catch the fast people! i also painted that body the same as my spare buggy just different colour's

My motor is a 5.5t reedy and its crazy that's why its only running 50% punch-power.

My steering is annoying! its straight at the start of the race then after a lap I've got to keep correcting it to keep the thing straight!!

you could try team c stuff as its pretty much the same as ansmann, I think a few top drivers when they drove the X4 used kyosho gears in there's

My motor is a 5.5t reedy and its crazy that's why its only running 50% punch-power.

is maybe a little fast but is ok if it's all you have, just check the slipper clutch is adjusted correctly to try and take some strain off the gears

sounds like your servo maybe not 'man enough' for the job or could be on its way out,
Hope this helps

Mmm I'm not sure on that servo as I have never used one, maybe your horn could be slipping on the splines on the servo? Have you by mistake put the wrong horn on? A 25 spline horn on a 24 spline servo for example would kind of work but it would slip round. Just an idea?

Ansmann parts are abit tricky as they stopped bringing them into the uk but then another company took over so I assume they are still available but where I'm not sure?

Try SMD (spire model distribution) they bring Team C cars into the uk, I'm not sure of the politics of it all but Ansmann cars are rebadged Team C cars.so most parts should be compatible.

Here are the kyosho gears that I believe will fit

http://www.jemodels.com/electric-mod...tegory_id=1285

Generally what the manual tells you won't be a million miles away on the slipper clutch but obviously the is tolerance in the parts, track conditions differ and what motors are being used cannot all be covered, I should be there on Sunday, I run a kyosho lazer that is a similar car to what you have so I can tak a look for you, but most reasonably experienced racers should be able to help also

I was going to suggest the servo or steering mech is binding, perhaps not returning to centre when the car is under load / acceleration ?

25 splines is how many teeth it has for the servo horn
different manufacturers have different splines(teeth) so the servo horn that you use has to fit correctly
