Default Yokomo Shaft Drive Prototype

Did not see this mentioned anywhere here yet.

Would think this will be a more affordable competition 4WD buggy from Yokomo, similar to the Durga from Tamiya. Looks pretty good though with proper suspension etc.

Too bad can't read Japanese...

No more info on that yet. My guess is Tamiya could show the prototype at Shizuoka in May and then release it towards the end of the year. This is what they did with the 501 in 2006.

Guess it all depends on how testing goes though.

Old news

I asked on the Cactus Classic thread if anyone there was using one, don't think anyone noticed.

Here's another pic I found: (edit: just realised this pic is part of the above scanned image)

in the card box the motor is on the left rear, big pics show it right middle
(as JC BJ4, HPI D4, etc...) but looks too toyish to me.

I need carbon and alloy

Maybe they start a new afford to the next worlds (2009 where?) with
a shaft driven, I think they max'd out belt driven with the BX worlds...

I think you need to look a little closer at the car in the box

think so too.

but then - Yokomo and budget-anything...

When I have to spend like 500 Euros for a RC-car it has to be
top quality and top materials (CF reinforced molded chassi would be okay,
if it's tub, but carbon shock towers, alloy motor mount, high quality
drive shafts and so on is a must)

the car shown ist simply too much plastic for me

it's competing against an HB D4...

oh well... MR4-BC

don't misunderstand me - I'm a big Yokomo fan(atic) but not all of their
cars where top of the class

At least with the BX they designed a totally new 4WD not an adapted
TC to offroad

If the go shaft driven (like their try in TC BD vs. SD) they should design
first the car for the worlds and maybe then go for the budget car
like JC and AE with the BJ4 and B44

wonder what's up with the thundertiger sparrowhawk

Yokomo had a new car all "cadded" up for the `07 worlds but chose not to build one to run

Not sure if it was belt or shaft driven though

Hi guys, some more pics:

It's being tested at Yatabe Arena, and the lap times seems to be good. The name? Yokomo B-MAX4.

The suspension (a-arms, hubs, and shock towers) seems to replicate the geometry of its big brother MR-4BX World's edition. This new car could be a direct competitor for the Tamiya Durga and Kyosho Lazer ZX5

The BX body should be the best and first improvement for the car!
