Default My Optimas

Hello all. Signed up ages ago and lurked ever since. After reading some of the threads in this section it's inspired me to contribute some bits and pieces. If you like what you see here then I'll be more than happy to share more of my vintage collection.

There appears to be a lot of love for the legendary Kyosho Optima and Optima Mid so this is where I'll start. I have three in running or restored state with one more to be restored and two more on the way.

First up is my '7up' Optima. This was a state when I got it and I very nearly binned it, it was that bad. It's saving graces were straight chassis, good gearboxes and the optional belt drive was installed. Found the bits I needed cheaply and now it's a great runner.

The Optima Pro came to me as you see it. Really very nice indeed. Very clean chassis. One for the shelf.

The Mid is a runner and came to me as is. Runs great and gets used regulary.

I'll hopefully be updating this thread with more pics soon

Two more Mids have joined the fleet

First up is an Optima Mid Turbo. This one will be one of my main runners for this year after which it'll get a tidy up and new shell. Running a Le Mans 360 and vintage Prafa ESC.

Next we have a Turbo Mid Special. This will be getting new bodywork (bits on the way from Marwen) and will spend most of the time on the shelf although the old shell will be kept in case I fancy giving it a light run.

Thanks ralphee. The Turbo Mid Special is indeed a handsome buggy. Looking forward to making it look a bit nicer.

Here you can see your car in action.

PS: It's your car but with another bodyshell.
