Default Vintage Racing @ Silverstone

Well, we finally managed to get a few Vintage cars on the track at Silverstone last night (only been talking about it since xmas!)

Only three cars, but it was great, and hope to be joined by a Tomy Intruder next week.

Mines the ProCAT which went very well with Lipo and Brushless 8.5, its got a custom slipper designed to take modern Schumacher spur and slipper pads, home made carbon ball-raced steering gear, and CAT SX shocks, period MMS diffs, but other than that its standard!

If anyone else fancies dusting off their relics and joining us, PM me and I'll give you the details.

I'll try and get some video footage next week too.

Your ProCat was ballistic Nigel! Certainly embarrased a few of the modern buggies

Think my 2wd JRX2/understeer device is at a little bit of a dissadvantage on SRCMCC's high grip astro - but its still alot of fun

For the record my Losi is also running an 8.5 BL motor & LiPo battery - mods include a double plate slipper (XXX style), ballraced diff gear, tougher steering levers from the LXT truck, Robinson Racing GRP link arm mounts & RW Racing wheel adaptors which allow me to run 2.2" Yokomo wheels - rare deep-dish 2.2s (Yokomo part# ZC-835) on the rear are used to clear the trailing arms/bottom shock mounting.

It will go pretty well with a bit of set up work.

I really fancy having a crack at running one of my vintage runners around a proper track but having not raced before, I don't think I'll be much good at it

Still I'll have a ponder

Could be a good excuse to dig out my Top Force Evo again (now fixed).
