Yokomo YZ2 Weights
Today i used my YZ2 for the first time and was always gonna be hard as it was outdoors on a lovely wet astroturf track. Im surprised how well it drove but def feel it needs some weight in the back. I can't seem to find stock anywhere for the rear brass suspension mounts. But can see the steel ones in stock at most places. Does anyone know the weight of the steel versions compared to the brass?
Or can anyone recommend where to get a decent set of rear weights for this car? Thanks Matt |

Mibosport was the one selling the brass, maybe available. It was before the Yokomo steel parts launched.
Check rctech as one guy was selling a big chunk of brass, including RF hanger that could be useful (70 to 100g for a 60/40 weight balance). Also the aluminium rear link mount with added weights is a good option. |

I'd probably try the Z2-BWR or some flat sticky weights under the motor and the steel RF mount before starting to add weight too far in the back. Maybe replacing the front ballstud mount with the slightly lighter plastic version is also a good idea. Using a ball diff instead of the gear diff will help a lot in the wet.

I liked the car with weight added in front of the RF hanger and in the back, would have like even more on the back, even ask Michal at Mibo if he could have a brass rear link made as the more we had the more planted the car was.
And that was with ball diff, 3.5 deg set with inserts and 0.5 hubs. Raising ride height a lot does help but you need to reset camber, some gurney to the wing helps but at that point I needed to add some weight on the front to keep the car level on jumps. Short on hubs and moving rear wishbones forward (shims on the back) does help. ESC on the lipo strap too. The rear is locked in the wet, that was really nice. If I planned to keep the car I would have bought a Bmax2 gearbox for sure. Would have been even better. Last edited by tomtom; 06-12-2015 at 09:57 PM. |

Most people use steel rather than brass.
I sold my YZ2 recently but still have the steel hangers if you want them. Only used twice.
