Default Remember Ben Sturnham?

http://www.newburytoday.co.uk/News/F...articleID=6942

He's just been made head coach at Newbury Rugby club!

I only spoke to him a couple of months back in regard to a meeting we were planning to put on at Lee's to see if he fancied having another play.

He was working at Bristol at the time, and was keen to have a go but i didn't realise he'd go to the effort to move here just for some r/c action

No excuses now anyway, would be great to see him come out of retirement for a play.

I was at the worlds where he made the final and he really drove the tits off the CAT2000. Really gave people a run for the money! Wasn't there something about Tanaplan using an epic can with a Yokomo head on the motor which led to him being disqualified or demoted???

There was a picture or video of him delivering water to the rugby team with an RC car ages ago too.

Top Bloke.
I pitted next to him at the Southport British Grand Prix one year. He hooked me up with the tyres he'd just run for my next round so I didn't have to buy any.

Bumped into him quite a few years ago when he was at Saracens vs Swansea match. He asked about the R/C stuff, but obviously he's got a proper job and grown up unlike the rest of us!!!!

He was a awesome racer. Ben used to turn up at the Toddington model car club with his cougar at the time and set faster times than all of us using 4wd (this was in the wet).

A very talented driver and very friendly.

Yeah I remember Ben and his dad Dick,
He was the test driver for the original Cat way back, I remember seeing him drive it around the track at hemel hempstead (Pyramid Club).
If anyone remembers those days, Hi, you may remember me as "Carnage"

Top bloke, I remember after being chucked out of the Southend GP with the Irish motley crew (we brought fish and chips to the evening do-Bob Gammon found it highly amsuing) I saw Ben getting aquainted with Jon Leonard's sister, which was highly amusing but still a top bloke, definately an ambasidor to the sport.

BEN!!!!

Nick if you see him again and he wants to have a go, get him to get in touch and i will sort it out.

The Tanaplan thing at the worlds sucked, but rules are rules!!! Ben genuinely gave Masami a run for his money and got nothing for it.

I always loved Ben's shouts for 'interference' when the car sucked and he promptly smashed it in the board to piss of the old man.
