it should show up as 200 on the firmware list... might be worth trying to uninstall and re-install the hotwire application.

With the R1 non pro I've ran down to a 448 which is a 4T and 4800kv. A 7700kv motor is going to put you into our 369 motor, etc.

I wouldn't reccomend that with a non pro unit. 5T's in 5t's however you're comparing a Delta wound slotless motor to a wye wound slotted motor(novak) and that's not a fair comparison.

What's the application?

Uninstalled etc. and reinstalled and no change, only listing 198 as the latest update.

This is for a RS Pro

Randy, Thanks for the help... I wasnt trying to compare like for like just wondering what the speedo could handle...

The reason I mentioned the Novak was before I realised about KV's I just bought it off the back "of its a 5T" and therefore assumed it would be similar, oops !!

But it is to be fair ts plenty for my 10yr old for the moment, at least now I know I can move him upto a Tekin 4800kv motor as and when he needs an upgrade

Thanks Again

Lee

Randy, straight forward question; will the speedo handle mod touring with lipo and down to 4,5 motors without heat issues or is a fan required? Not saying i'm gonna use a 4,5 as 4,5 and lipo is a bit daft, just lining up worst possible conditions the esc can be put through.
Also, what temps where you seeing at the IIC in the mod 1/12th class?

depending on the track, you may need a fan, directing air over the solder posts, it is a matter of trying, as you know, all tracks put different loadings on the motor, battery and esc.

Got Tekin Software working on Windows 7 x64 with a 2003 VM. Managed to update to version 200.

What recommendations for a 7.5 / 6.5 motor in a 4wd Cat SX

Quite a few questions really, but better to know then what to know
I use a RS in my Micro LRP Shark ST, Xfactory X6 and my SC10, they work great but wanted to understand what the hotwire settings REALLY mean

Neutral width - I always read this as a sort of 'dead band' on the throttle so I always set it to 0, a lot of people seem to dial some of this in though so whats the real meaning of neutral width?

Timing advance - People also run this alot, I've always set this option to 0 as I don't quite understand how turning it up would be beneficial? Would be good to know

Other than that top stuff, just need to understand a few terms

Dan, come over to COBRA and I will give you a crash course....

Timing, basically, gives you revs at the top end.

Neutral Width, it a personal thing, if it is at zero, then the car will flutter between low throttle and low brake, but you don't want it to big, so I set it to 1&2 on the ESC, or 8 on the hotwire.

Default New ESC + Motor

Need some advice for a new Esc + motor.

At this moment I run a LRP TC + X12 motor in my Atomic carbon S2 but I would like to change to Tekin.

What do you advice?

Thanks

Timing advance I assume doesn't suit all motors as I don't think it's suitable for my Losi 7.5

Keep the X12 and buy an RS Pro and Hotwire.

Mike, I ran a Losi 6.5 and, in dual mode, run timing too.

Most motors will need some timing to get optimal performance. Each is different in it's own right.

Well, there is no actual 'cell' sitting in those points, but you will render the cell illegal, if being used in a sanctioned event, and weaken the case.

Well with the timing turned down to 0 on the RS Pro and with the gearing "ok" the Losi still got pretty toasty... I'm going to put my LRP X11 7.5 in from my XXCR and see how that goes. If it runs perfect as it does in the XXCR (also running a RS Pro) I'll change to a Speed Passion motor. With the LRP I'll put the timing back up again and then see how it goes and have my laptop at the track this time. Need to see if a mate has a temperature gauge so I can get accurate readings from the motor(s)

I'll get them off my laptop tomorrow. 83/23 on the cat I think (basically standard spur)

what does 83/23 equate to, as a ratio, on the Cat SX.

Are you running sensored or sensorless?
