Default Sanwa Gemini Battery problem..

I've just bought a brand new Sanwa Gemini II transmitter howver the battery seems to die VERY quickly.. from what I have experienced so far in practise I just cannot see the transmitter lasting for a whole meeting.

Is this normal and do most people have two fully charged transmitter batteries or do you think there is a fault in the transmitter battery?

Thanks in advance!

i would say its not charging fully or not holding a charge well enough.

i use an 1800mah pack in mine(super exzes) and it would do a 2 day national easy.

Well I'm charging it for ages and it seems to die out after 15 minutes useage...

Should I presume there is a fault?

Charge ours overnight, one cable from the adapter is for the transmitter battery, other for reciever packs (think) but lower charge rate, we have under charged on this cable before.....

Have seen replacements, heres one: http://www.stormforceracing.co.uk/prods_assembled.htm
see bottom of page

Thanks, I've tried to charge it with the battery both in and out of the transmitter to see different results.. but its the same.

I'm not really interested in replacements as this set is brand new!

Just ordered a Sanwa battery pack from Stormforce Racing.
Original Battery pack would not last for a 2 day meeting.

As a note, from the charger, cable with connector for transmitter 9.6volt charges with battery in the transmitter, cable with blue female connector 4.8volts for reciever batteries.

We have made a patch lead so we can charge off the charger we use for car cells, useful when in need of topping up when racing, keep the original pack always handy as backup.

Could anyone show me a diagram or something as to how I would assemble a 9.6v tx pack as I have some 2400nimhs which I wouldnt mind using in my Gemini.
Also, what would you recommend I charge the current Nicd pack at on a pulsar? e.g. cutoff and amp rate

Sorry, not precise numbers, if we are racing and it looks a little low we tend to wack it on about 1 Amp for half an hour between races, just topup realy.

I have ordered a Stormforce racing battery for my Gemini II and wanted to know if it is still ok to use the mains charger that came with the transmitter to charge it or should I use my Orion charger?

Thanks!

You are OK using the standard transmitter charger. This will be designed to charge the NiCd pack so the higher capacity NiMH pack will just take longer to charge.
