Charging people to come enjoy our "toys"
So I know of a few people that charge people to come watch PPV events and ride their dirt bikes on the track on their land etc. I was just thinking maybe this is a good way to make some extra money. What do you guys think? Would you do something like this? Or have you?

I don't think that would work. I can't get my Mrs to come and watch little car racing but she's always up for watching me ride the MX bike.

Because we want to encourage people into the sport.
Make some money on refreshments or a tuck shop, but don't charge people to watch. (exit soapbox)

It's not a big enough sport to charge people to watch. Best to keep it free to get them interested and potentially into racing.

You have a point but she'll never know unless she tries

As already mentioned don't think it's a wise idea to charge for watching but if you can get members of the public to come and watch for free then there's potentially future racers. I know it has already been mentioned about a tuck shop but have you considered an open day? Maybe worthwhile contacting the local paper and see if you can get them to do an article on the club and arrange an open day and if it is possible have cars to hire out.
