Thanks Losi_110 Don't forget that the best ideas start on the back of coasters (or with rudimentary models) - and CAD models is one thing, but making a mould with the right detail and accuracy will be the actual challenge here - as I don't have a lot of funds, time and no experience making these moulds... Sometimes I wonder what am I getting myself into
In the meantime I've found the opportunity to get these pictures uploaded: Yeah, it's a dirty car allright - just the way offroad cars should be! With the lack of pictures of my FWD with a trophy I thought it's about time to pose the car next to its latest achievement - not to mention the FWD has brought home the majority of my trophies, so these pictures are long overdue! :P Last edited by Origineelreclamebord; 17-11-2014 at 10:57 PM. |

Electronics is all HobbyKing stuff at the moment I'll admit Except the servo, it's a Savöx, though it's also a pretty standard unit. You don't need exceptional power for the steering, though I would not recommend a low-profile unit - but I wouldn't even use one in my RWD anymore, they really miss out on power and speed.
As for the availability, I'm very busy with my current internship and progress is a bit slow at the moment. If all goes well I'll make some good progress around Christmas, but it's hard to predict. All I can say is you should not expect it in the first quarter of 2015. |

Today was another race in the MAC Vlijmen Winter Championship. Today was a very interesting day with an extremely competitive field and very close racing...
...very close! I qualified as third, and this gave me a better spot than last time to take on the competition. I'll admit it was quite necessary considering the presence of Wesley van Helmond and a few more very quick drivers who joined for todays race. The first heat saw a poor start from me, but a good comeback too, eventually ending one spot up in 2nd place. The second final I had a better start, but at the same time the battle for first place was between four drivers. With such a heated battle mistakes were inevitable: I fell back to that fourth spot, but with a mistake from Wesley I knew there might be a chance for everyone to snatch that elusive first spot (yes, his pace is that dominating) - and in the end I managed to grab that first spot. The third heat was less of a success, as I first fell back to fifth, before a broken CVD pin forced me to resign. In the finals, Wesley got one win and a second place... so did I, and Tom van Drunen, the winner of last race, thus all three tying in points. The regulations stated the times be looked at. With the track becoming bumpier through the day, the result was that I didn't come in first. However, I did end up in front of Tom van Drunen, again scoring second place! I'm absolutely thrilled with the result... I still have to win my first A-final, but tying in points to the 2013 EFRA Euros Junior Champion sure feels like a win to me! Also, I have picked the design work up again on the production car - it's small updates so far, but they pave the way for other updates Last edited by Origineelreclamebord; 14-12-2014 at 10:15 PM. |

Yeah, I'm quite bummed out by the delay too... but I can't push the deadline on this project, it's as much a labour of love as it is the development for a conversion kit. I'll make sure it's worth the wait!
Also, I can report to that progress has been satisfactory and pace is picking back up. Some recent mileage gave me very useful input for further improvements on the car, and at the same time the new design is getting there - the way things look now, the front end is nearly done Last edited by Origineelreclamebord; 18-12-2014 at 09:57 PM. |

Ok, update time!
The CAD work has seen a lot of progress over the last week or so. I've updated the front suspension, rear suspension, chassis layout and other elements on the car. I've also made parts that will allow me to test these updates on the current prototype. Soon it'll be time to start working on the bodyshell to make sure it progresses simultaneously with the design of the car and in the meantime the test results will further define the design of the car. So all in all, my holidays were good and I think I've given the project a good push into the new year. Last edited by Origineelreclamebord; 03-01-2015 at 08:48 PM. |

@strodedawg: Cool to hear you're interested The motor I run is a 6.5T/5200kV motor from HobbyKing - from the leading brands, this would be 7.5-8.5T.
@rcjunky: I'm afraid not yet, but I'm eager to finish the design - and when that's done, there will be a lot more to look at than that front hub |

I have been watching this project for a long time now and I have signed up and specifically to register my interest.
I tend to collect FF cars, my favorites are a Yokomo YRF2 SP and an old Kyosho FF CRX. I am very interested adding one of your FF buggys to my small, unusual collection. Cheers, Chris Last edited by merce; 27-01-2015 at 09:07 AM. Reason: they made me do it |

Well Paul, congrats !
Not only did he win the last race of the MAC Vlijmen Winter Championship, he also took the points total and there by becoming Winter Champ over fast guys like Wesley van Helmond (TLR 22), Tom van Drunen (B5M), Arjan vd Graaf (RC1) and Marco vd Tillaar (RB6)

Go Paul! I think the car has proved its self!
Paul sure had a big advantage today with the FWD. Combine that with great driving and we had a well deserved day winner in 2wd! In the end he even won the winter championship over 4 races in front of nr 2 Wesley van Helmond (22.2) and nr 3 Tom van Drunen (B5m). Last edited by Tomboo_91; 08-02-2015 at 08:08 PM. |

Thanks guys! It's starting to sink in that I won the championship, it's beyond what I had hoped for considering there were four contenders for the title going into the last race, and a field where a single mistake could drop you down the leader board by several places.
I'll makes some updates as more information (results lists, pictures) come in |

Championship Podium: ...And the collection of this winter championship at home: Two second places, a third place, a first place and the overall win! So, next step is making sure the next picture of such a trophy collection is with your FWD Buggy Stay tuned! |

Do you get an extra prize for winning with a home/self made buggy?
