This was the first big race in years in Sweden with a total of 71 people
signing up for the race.
The club hosting the race was Örebro Radiobilklubb (Örebro radio car
club) which is located in the middle of Sweden.
The weatherforcast was tropical summer heat with no risk of rain. It got
realy hot and hit 31c in the pitting area on
Saturday and it was only early May!

The track in Örebro is always very slippery and dusty. It is quite
technical with a tight race line.
With the lineup of drivers it was fun to see that some of the top
swedish touring and 1:12 track guy's try this side
of the rc sport.
2wd was the first class to run on Saturday and it was the biggest class
of the event. After 3 rounds of qualification
the home track favourite Magnus Hedqvist was on top. Magnus was really fast
with his Losi. In second spot was the fast
touring car driver Per Erik Nordman with his Kyosho RB5 and in third
yours truly Daniel Persson with a Losi.
The qualification format was the fastest time and not round by round.

The finals didn't hold any suprises. Magnus was steady and secured an
easy victory.
The second place was open for grabs between me and Otto. With Magnus not
driving
the last final I got an early lead and pulled away.
Otto got stuck in
traffic but got loose
and was chasing me like a mad man. I could feel him breathing down my
neck and
my nerves started to get to me, it was really hard to control them hehe
. . . I slipped up,
made a stupid mistake and Otto was all over me on the last lap. He
managed to pass
me, stupid nerves... =) |

Sunday and now it was time for 4wd.
The weather was almost the same but only 28c in the pit that day hehe. . .
With Magnus' fast driving in 2wd, this being his home track and 4wd his
favorite class
I thought that it was going to be a hard task to beat him. Especially
since I was driving a new
car (Tamiya 501X Worlds) that I only had taken for a testdrive in my garage for 3 min at 2am
Fridaymorning
The qualification showed that things were not what everyone thought they
whould be!
I was still learning the car but it was fast.
The swedish touring- and 1:8 buggydriver Mathias Larsson was showing
that his AE B44
was fast around the slippery track and took TQ spot. In second spot we
had Otto and his
Losi XX-4 and Magnus who we all thought whold take the TQ was only in
third spot with
his Losi XX-4

4WD finals
this was wery exiting.
First final were off and there was some tumble in the pack in the first
few laps but after 2 laps
it seteld down Otto was in the leed and i in second when Otto stripped
the spurgear in his
XX-4 and retired. i was now in front and Magnus was chasing me hard. He
geind in the bumpy
section and i with the Tamaiya pulled away in the flat smooth parts
It was like this to the last lap when i rolled it and landed on my
wheels but now Magnus was right
on my tail. i did keep my cool this time an not like in the 3rd 2wd
final were i lost it
Top 3 A1
1. Daniel Persson

People had alot of problems Otto got a stone stuck in his rear left
outdrive when he was in 3rd place,
Magnus car just diead on the straigtaway when he was in second. that all
helped me secure 2nd place
Jimmy got in on a 3rd place even after he got a stop n go
Top 3 A2
1. Mathias Larsson
2. Daniel Persson
3. Jimmy Visshed
Third final was the one! Who will win
In the first corner i flipped and was dead last! Mathias was in the lead
and going fast..
working my way up i hear that Mathias car broke down and that Tengvall
was in the lead.
It was all in my favor that Tenvall was was in the lead and magnus in
second.
Tengvall keept the leed to the finnish with some smooth driving with his
Atomised B44
and Magnus in second and Jimmy in third
